I spent a lot of time on this lake some years ago when we owned a home on it. Yes, it is beautiful, but the water never seemed to warm up in the summer. My kids enjoyed it, but I was more used to the warmer lakes of Georgia, so for me, the water was always just a little too chilly to really enjoy. What we did like and appreciate was that on the 4th of July, when you dare not go to Lake Lanier due to drunk boaters and over crowding, there was only a handful of boats on Lake Santeetlah! That is what sold us on Lake Santeetlah. But after a while, the lack of anything interesting in Robbinsville is what motivated us to sell. We like to have options for eating out (not fast food) and Robbinsville just didn't offer that. There were a couple of really nice restaurants to choose from, but they were kind of expensive. Perhaps there is more in Robbinsville now.
