My hubby & I stopped here for the night on a motorcycle trip through the Smokies last spring. We had passed by it several times and decided to finally journey up the hill to see what it was all about and boy were we happy we did! We were lucky enough to have stopped by on a night with a few vacancies which is rare and quickly snatced up an upper floor larger queen room with a great view of the mountaiside below. Our room was very comfortable and cute. The bathroom was a little on the small side but equally as cute! We ventured downstairs for a drink at the bar and were met by an extremely efficient and friendly bartender. We grabbed our drinks and headed out to the deck overlooking the Smokies--what a view! Relaxing to be able to sit in the big rocking chairs and sip some cocktails....oh so nice and then the best part--dinner! Included in their package price was a gourmet meal that stuffed us so full! After dinner a nice stroll and some romance in the screened in gazebo and a peaceful night's sleep. In the morning another gourmet meal and a lunch to go! Most people staying at the inn could get their lunch packed in a picnic basket or backpack to take along on a hike or for a secluded picnic in the woods. Since we were on a motorcycle and headed out, they obliged us by packing our delicious lunch in a paper sack and we were enjoying several hundred miles down the road still dreaming of our lovely stay!

Room Tip: Spens the extra dollars for the larger rooms that have a view of the mountainside.

My husband and I got married at Snowbird last weekend and it was the best experience. The lodge is located in such a beautiful place that the scenery alone is worth the trip! But besides that the rooms were comfortable, the food was outstanding and the staff was so accommodating. We had a very small wedding which we held in the library in front of the picture window at sunset. We had 7 guests and 2 photographers. The hotel set up a private table for us on the terrace where we enjoyed our giant meal. They followed us from room to room with chilled champagne, the whole weekend was exactly what we had hoped it would be and more! Make sure to partake of the many great hiking trails and don't skip breakfast - order everything it's worth it! We will be returning to Snowbird annually to enjoy this amazing and relaxing place. If you want a vacation that is scenic with good food and nice people this is the place to go.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Wolfe cottage - wonderful porch view, gas fireplace very comfortable.

Have been to Snowbird several times and have always loved it. I have been in the last few years but it would not let me post that exact date. I love love love Snowbird.
We have always stayed in the Lodge and enjoyed the rooms. The Cottage rooms are nice as well. It's a wonderful place to get away to for a few days. The food is exquisite and wonderful! We have enjoyed hiking, biking, the sunsets and just sitting on the terrace visiting or reading a book in the lodge area where there are some very nice and comfy leather couches.
It's a special place to us and we will always continue to visit this amazing Lodge. We have to find child care first because children are not allowed, but thank goodness for that! I could not imagine bringing children to this serene and quiet retreat. We will be back again!Promise! This is the place to go with your spouse to get away from it all!

Owned by proprietor Robert Rankin, the Snowbird is a unique lodge experience with great staff, food, wine and accommodations. You can have both the cozy experience of the historic rooms in the lodge or dial into a more private, romantic space in their more recently built cabins. Go once & you'll become a regular!

The Snowbird was a wonderful place to stay. The price included all 3 meals, the picnic lunch was even delcious! Gourmet food in a place away from the crowd. If you like quiet, beautiful places with a great view of the mountains this is it. The mountain streams in the area are so pretty. My Daddy used to trout fish in this area and I came here to reminise about time spent exploring this part of the mountains. The trout in the restaurant here was cooked perfectly, portions are generous and first class cuisine. I love to travel and have stayed at some nice places but this is one of the finest places I have stayed.

Room Tip: Loved my room with a view of the mountains on the first floor.

We never travel over the holidays but decided to make a change and go to the Snowbird Lodge for Thanksgiving. It was the most relaxing Thanksgiving we have ever had. We stayed in the Chestnut Lodge and enjoyed the hot tub and steam shower especially after hiking. We were told to hike to Huckleberry Knob so we grabbed our picnic lunch and headed out. Huckleberry Knob has to be the most beautiful view we have ever seen. The food was just amazing! The Thanksgiving Meal was full of all the traditional fare and then later that evening ended with a Turkey Sandwich. We started each day with a walk to Sunrise Point, it is a different view each day and well worth the walk. The staff is top notch with hospitality and knowledge of the area. Thank you April, Kayla, Lace, and Butch! Mr. Rankin can be seen greeting guests and making sure you are enjoying your stay. You won't find these amenities and hopitality anywhere else. Can't wait until our next visit!

Room Tip: The main lodge is great get a mountain view or choose one of the lodge rooms for the privacy

For the past two Thanksgivings, being "empty-nesters", we have decided to travel somewhere to celebrate the holiday. This year we decided to go to Snowbird Mountain Lodge. We were not disappointed. This lodge, which has been around since 1941, is wonderful. It is quiet and peaceful, and although somewhat larger than a usual B&B, still has the feel of a small one. Everyone who works there, including the owner Robert Rankin, are very friendly, welcoming and helpful anytime you have questions or need suggestions of things to do. We especially liked the bartender who was a very friendly guy.
The food is topnotch! We felt that we were eating in a gourmet restaurant. A nice feature is that they pack you a lunch every day even the day you check out. Although not an inexpensive place to stay, all three meals are included in the price and we felt that it was worth it.
The lodge itself is very comfortable and welcoming and immaculate. I am very picky about how clean places are and could find nothing I was concerned about. We stayed in the lodge but there are a couple of "cottages" which are also available. The beds were comfortable and provided for a good night's sleep. The view from the lodge is magnificent and sitting out in the rocking chairs on the terrace reading was a favorite pastime. If you need a TV to have fun, there aren't any. They do have wi-fi and plenty of books to read and games to play. The hiking around the area there is plentiful. We are definitely returning.

Room Tip: Not all rooms in the Lodge are the same size so check that out if you care about how much room you h...
