“Nice Surprise in Raleigh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This is an older property that has been maintained well. The room was spotless, and the service was great. The staff is very customer focused.

The manager has a snack for guests at 5:30 PM Monday thru Friday, and it is enough that you may just skip dinner. Tuesdays they serve tacos, and Wednesday is grill night with grilled chicken, hot dogs, and burgers. You can purchase beer and wine.

They also serve a full breakfast buffet - not the usual continental breakfast. It is no wonder that they are 100% occupied every night this week.

Room Tip: They do not have elevators so if you are on the second floor, you will have to use the stairs.

There were so many advantages to staying here. First and foremost, as past reviewers have said, it was convenient to downtown Raleigh, local shopping, as well as Trader Joes :) Also, one of the biggest perks is how clean and spacious the room is, with all the amenities. It is nice to buy groceries and bring them back to the hotel, rather than spending a lot of money on outside dining. The pool, gazebo and complimentary breakfast were fabulous. The staff were friendly and accommodating when I had to change rooms because of louder group one floor up from me. Also, the staff went above and beyond to bring and install the pack-and-play for my daughter to stay on, and she was even given a special welcome gift with little toys. I truly didn't expect that, but it was a special touch that made my stay even more delightful.

I recently had the oppertunity to visit this facility and found it to be very clean and with may ammenities. I was able to take advantage of thier morning breakfast bar and was delighted with the selection available, The one disapointment was there was no valet in my room to set my luggage on during my stay, one night, The bed were very comfortable and I managed a good nights sleep.

This hotel was very nice. The price was right and the room was nice. I had a complimentary upgrade to a penthouse which was a pleasant surprise. More than enough room. Full kitchen, which i think is available for every room. Staff was friendly and helpful. I like that they had a full breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon, etc.) rather than a standard complimentary breakfast. I would recommend staying here and plan on staying there again when in the Raleigh area.

We were impressed with the size of the room/loft. It was nice having a full size kitchen. Room was clean. Smelled of smoke when we walked in though it's non-smoking. May have been old smoke and the air hasn't been on. Had to call the front desk about ants in the kitchen and had to report leaking dishwasher. Pool and hot tub were nice. Food was delicious and social hour was nice.
We would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the most pleasant places I have stayed! The grounds and pool are very well kept and clean.
All staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was very clean. The light went out in our bathroom in the evening and we forgot to mention it before we went out the next morning. That afternoon, maintenance arrived to replace the light bulb and we were puzzled how they knew it needed replacing. Housekeeping had actually reported the bulb needing to be replaced and it was taken care of right away. The breakfast is very good and has a great variety. Location is great. We definitely will stay here when in the area.

Room Tip: We were in a room by the pool and the pool hours are such (10am-8pm) that it was no problem.

Entered the bathroom and found a cockroach. The AC in our room was noisy and the ice maker scared me, sounds like a fire cracker. Breakfast was good, great choices, I liked that they had something savory.
