“you wont go wrong here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

Stayed here on St Patricks day mostly because it was right on the St Patricks Day Parade route and The staff put us in a room that had a Birds eye view so we could watch the parade from our room which i thought was above and beyond. This is a beautiful hotel and the room was fantastic. This was our first time in Raleigh and i was charmed by this little town and will go back and when we do This is where I'll stay.My only complaint and its a minor one is the Hotel parking is across the street from the Hotel so loading and unloading wasnt the easiest and if you had to run to your car it was a journey.

Dear Eric H,

Thanks so much for the great review. Raleigh is a great southern city and our hotel location is the Best in town! If you think St. Patrick's was fun you should join us for New Years Eve. Our rooms overlooking City Plaza are the best views in the city for the fireworks! The next time you are here please just call a bellman to help with your bags so the parking deck will not be an obstacle to your weekend enjoyment!

Thanks

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and each time the staff has been friendly and professional. Rooms are nice and comfortable and every request is handled professionally. Restaurant is great and very welcoming. One of the best places to stay in downtown Raleigh.

Room Tip: Pick a corner room and a high floor

almost didn't stay here but ended up reserving here getting a last minute decent rate (170$) on the top floor with access to the club lounge. We only got a king bed unfortunately for the four of us but as we weren't going to spend the day there we just dealt with it. The room was sizable and clean. If you like city views, the top floor provided a nice one of it. The bathroom appeared clean no complaints there. The club lounge was nice as it was never crowded, open whenever and came with free drinks and snacks. A comfortable addition but we don't know how the breakfast was as we just over slept the time. Also the clerk was very nice to give us a few extra minutes no charge to check out. I didn't have great expectations for the place but for one night with friends it was a clean comfortable stay with a helpful staff (provided us menu for late night delivery places) I would definitely come back again even with the rather steep price but understandable for the great location right near the raleigh convention center and near a lot of other great weekend downtown activities. Clean comfortable and nice staff but if you want a hotel to wow you or something like this isn't the place. If you stay here definitely get the club lounge or just don't expect more than the satisfactory/adequate with a great location and you'll be happy. Parking is right across the street no trouble finding a spot and not that expensive.

Room Tip: club lounge for a better value

Thank you for staying with us and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Connecting with friends is very important to our sheraton family and please let us know how we can make your stay even better the next time. I apologize we were sold out of double beds as the weekends can be very busy and we are glad it worked out for you. We hope to see you soon.

The Sheraton banquet team provided wonderful support for an evening dinner event for an important military client. The food was diverse, well prepared, and delicious. The servers were adaptive to our requests (even bringing the food out 15 mins early when requested!) and friendly. The space (Governors Room) worked well for our group of 30. Thank you to Marsha and her team for the excellent experience!

We were in Raleigh for one night and after two previous nights at country B&Bs, my husband and I decided on the Sheraton for a change. It’s in a great location, right downtown, within walking distance to all the restaurants. We parked across the street – there’s a public parking garage for $12 overnight, but on weekends it was free – it was a happy surprise as we didn’t know that before. I generally don’t expect much from Sheraton hotels, as they are not the top brand in the Starwood hotel group. But this one turned out to be very good in one important aspect – the bed was one of the most comfortable, firm but soft to the touch, and the sheets felt brand new, smooth, soft yet crisp. This was a bed that you wouldn’t want to get out of once you were buried under that pile of bright white sheets and fluffy quilt. We had a really good night’s sleep because of that. Other parts of our experience, however, could use some improvement: the shower was not particularly strong, and when I tried taking a bath, the water came out of the tap was quite brightly yellowish (the water from the sink didn’t have that problem however). Also, we asked the front desk staff for a recommendation for breakfast, and he only gave us the name of a place for brunch (which of course wouldn’t open till 10:30 am), when there was a really good breakfast place (and probably the only place aside from the hotel restaurant and Starbucks) that actually served breakfast from 8 am everyday within the same walking distance. We would have been very bummed out had we not found this place on our own!

It was like a Fairy Tale weekend for our family members who came from all over the country and stayed at the Sharaton Raleigh for my son's wedding. All of the staff was gracious and most helpful, going beyond the call of duty in every way that we needed, including Early Check-In.
We could have walked to any and every event of the weekend: Rehearsal Dinner at a fine Italian restaurant across the street, ceremony at the Cathedral a few blocks away, photos around the State Capital near that, reception at the Marbles Children's Museum a few blocks away, and surrounded by exciting festivals all the while. Hotel lobby staff are ready with maps and directions to help you find your way around.
Their second floor atrium restaurant was well enjoyed by those of us who dined there.
This Sheraton's bedding is the BEST that I have ever seen; you must spend a fortune on keeping up with all those pillows! Beautiful bathroom appointments; great hot water supply.
Parking is in a garage right across the street and the rate is SO reasonable!
I hope that we are invited to Raleigh again next year -- I know where we will be staying!
