“EXCELLENCE PEAKS-excellent tomato soup!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Truly home cooking. I am a from scratch home cook and so are they. It's so easy to tell--fresh products, expertly combined, excellent cleanliness, knowledgable of their ingredients--excellence peaks here.
The variety changes daily. Great sandwishes AND entrees. Don't miss this experience. You will get more than your dollar purchases.

“Little neighborhood gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Tucked away in a small strip mall in North Raleigh, this little gem is consistently great for a casual meal. You order from the counter, pick up your drink and silverware, select a table, and then your food is promptly brought to you. I have never had anything that wasn't fresh and delicious. There is a standard menu but creative blackboard specials are posted each day, and I have learned that these are wonderful choices.
It gets very busy around noon but otherwise is less hectic. The parking lot is small but, if necessary, there is a larger lot just across the street. As you enter, you see a sparkling deli case filled with wonderful salads and prepared foods; many people come in just to select something to take home. One of the options is a 3-item salad plate so you can just choose from what you see. The black bean salad is exceptional as is the broccoli salad. (I also love their reuben!) Actually, to be honest, In many visits (and I have to drive across town to get there), I have never had anything I didn't enjoy!

“Always fresh, consistent and relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2012

Poppyseed is becoming our go-to market for either a casual dinner or for take out. The menu is consistent and foods are always fresh and tasty. The service is considerate and helpful.
My favorite meals are either their small pizzas or the fresh salads. The broccoli salad is a favorite and the chicken salad is made with white meat. I always love the homemade potato chips and ask for some ranch for dipping.
Poppyseed has expanded now with full-service dining. We only tried this once and it did not make that much of a difference for our experience and we are totally fine with getting our own drinks and silverware. Up next, we want to try out a wine tasting.
And please - only down side is that Poppyseed is closed on Sundays! We need another place for Brunch on Sundays and would love to see what Poppyseed would offer if they opened for brunch.

“Try the pimiento cheese!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012 via mobile

I love this place. They have excellent food and service. The grilled pimiento cheese sandwich is messy but worth it!
