"Crush and Rush" were on . . . wall to wall hungry people. Took a seat at the bar and a wonderful meal began. Stuffed shrimp appetizer light and mildly browned with a special sauce. Outback special 9 ounce steak cooked to perfection -medium rare was perfect and the "all the way" baked potato could have been their menu photo! The house salad was wonderfully chilled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh croutons, tasty red onion with just the right spoonful of chunky blue cheese. The evening's joy was watching the attentive, professional, and totally efficient bartenders. Mary Summers and Anthony Smith serve drinks, take dinner orders, and provide their own bar back services. During the rush a keg went dry, the ice needed to be replenished, glasses washed, and condiments/silverware set up. Their smiles were contagious. They know the pulse of the wait staff because all their orders were delivered to the right patron - - timely and smoothly. I was amazed at the positive energy. This staff is well trained and management can take pride in their efforts. The proof stands in the results. During my 50 minute meal I counted 9 couples, 22 singles, and 12 flow through patrons headed to tables that these folks served at the bar. Now consider the add-on uncounted drinks prepared for the rest of the restaurant population. These folks earned their pay, earned their tips, and earned my total respect. The night manager even stopped by to ask if I enjoyed my dinner! She heard my praise and now you get to read it! Make this Outback a stop on your trip to Raleigh.
