I had heard that the NC Museum of Art had a very nice restaurant that served lunch (and dinner on Friday evenings), so I decided to go there for lunch and do a tour of the museum before heading to the airport.
The menu changes often and all of the selections are fun and different. I had a cup of summer squash soup with roasted pumpkin seeds, a baby greens salad with sundried tomatoes, grit cake croutons and a wonderful dressing, and a grilled chicken panini with avocado. The salad was enough for 2 people as was the panini, so I recommend splitting a few items so that you can sample a lot of the menu. I had to run and catch the 1:30 tour, so I wasn't able to stay for dessert, but it looked excellent.
Definitely a place for an afternoon with the ladies. It doesn't have a lot of tables, the place is very clean as are the bathrooms, the tables are covered in white paper for easy cleanup and turnover. It's a very casual place with elegant food.
