My fiancé and I are both very familiar with restaurants, he is a chef and I am a waitress in fine dining. We were in Raleigh for a few days looking for apartments and just randomly decided to eat a Buku the evening of May 28th. We decided to dine inside, there were two very nice waiters that addressed us. I wish I could remember their names because they were both absolutely fantastic. I'm sure our waiter thought I was crazy because I had absolutely fallen in love with their Sangria Rojo. It is literally the best beverage I have ever had, it was comforting, slightly fruity, and delicious. Our waiter had informed me that they make the Sangria fresh in house, and whatever spices they add to it is working for them.
We ended up ordering four plates of food, two small appetizers and two entrées. We had the Vietnamese Crepes and Fillipino Lumpia to start. WOW, I am half Vietnamese and while no one can match my father's home made food, they would definitely give him a run for his money. We enjoyed both of these throughly. Then for our entrées I had the Frenched Chicken Breast and my fiancé had the Belgian Steak Frites. His truffled pommes duck-fat frites were amazing, and my asparagus was cooked PERFECTLY (which never happens when we dine out).
Everything was devine. I have deemed Buku as my all time favorite place to dine as of current. I am excited to be moving near by soon so that I may experience this place more! Thank you Buku for an amazing evening.
