Description: Located at the corner of Wilmington and Davie Streets in the heart of downtown Raleigh, bu•ku is a local restaurant that tells a global story. The name "bu•ku" itself is an international slang twist on the phrase, "Merci, beaucoup" meaning, "Thank you very much." Inspired by the pushcarts of street vendors across the globe, our chefs harvest an array of unique and distinct flavors and present them authentically, in a virtual kaleidoscope of plates. The common link: these are foods that people love. Working within different regional traditions, our menu brings together complex and flavorful dishes that have been honed over generations. Foods like Polish pierogis, Colombian arepas, and Thai barbecue prawns served in a banana leaf with green papaya salad can be found on the street corners of Warsaw, Bogota, and Bangkok. We strive to convey the immediate thrill a traveler feels eating foods like these as they first cross over the cart and exchange hands into the urban setting.

“Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Well cooked fish and sushi. Sweet service and helpful without being overly attentive. We only had scotch and wine for drinks, but they came quickly without the usual LONG bar wait. Thanks.

“Amazing Brunch!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Have previously dined at Buku , but this was the first time for brunch. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. There were several options to choose from and all were yummy!!

The only flaw was that a few items (i.e salads and fruits) on the buffet were almost gone so would've been nice if were replenished.

Can't wait to go back!

“Great for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

I've been to Buku several times and have always had great meals here. I do recommend lunch over dinner because I think it is a better value and their lunch menu gives you enough variety and exposure to what this restaurant has to offer. Everything is good though from their Sashimi / Sushi plates to their French fries and their Pho, hot pots and Bahn Mi.

Atmosphere is a little bit of a mis match for the food, but I love the feel of this downtown restaurant...oh and go for lunch on the weekend so you can also have one of their delicious bar drinks

“Nice Atmosphere, Food was okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

My husband I saw mix reviews on this place and decided to try it out. We are south east Asian, call us bias from eating authentic Asian food all the time, this place didn't meet up to "Asian Street Food" taste. The Cambodian rolls (spring/fresh rolls) were okay. You're better off going to simple restaurant for them, cheaper for bigger rolls. Papaya Salad was horrible, it tasted like papaya with fish sauce and sugar sprinkled on, no flavors blended like how papaya salad should taste. Tom Yum was bland with no sweetness or sour to it as it should be. The only good thing was the lumpia. If you are use to authentic Asian flavors, this place is NOT for you. Stay at the usual non-speaking English places!

“Amazing Food, Amazing Service - Thank you.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I took some business clients here tonight and the entire experience was almost 100% amazing. We had a great server, Corey, who was awesome at suggestions and taking care of the table - each person. He was detailed oriented and impressive.

The food, as always, was amazing. The only bad was the crazy things happening outdoors - it actually ended up being a conversation piece as the Bank Truck, Dump truck, Loud Motor cycles, etc passed by.

Thank you for a great experience.
