“One of the World's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

The North Carolina Ballet with its outstanding director is without a doubt one of the best in the world. This review is from a party who has seen endless ballet companies in the US and the world. We are always season subscribers and contributors. I commend this company for many adaptations to original ballets. This lets a person who has seen a particular ballet to see it performed with some variations yet performed without loss to its original intent. The ballet artists selected from many counties are top notch. Give this great group your support - THEY ARE GREAT!!!

“Magical Nutcracker”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

I recently attended one current performance of the Nutcracker Ballet and was totally impressed by the beautiful performance. The first act kept the school-age children in our group mesmerized for the magic is truly amazing and the special effects are outstanding. Unfortunately the second act is long and repetitive so the children became tired and restless. The performers are talented but the sameness takes away from the novelty. This is obviously not the fault of the Carolina ballet---it is just the way the ballet is written. By all means, go to see it ! However, it is really not an appropriate venue for pre-schoolers. There were several around us and their talking, fussing, and movements were a distraction from the beautiful ballet.

“Love going to ballet in Raleigh!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The tickets are very affordable so I can see several ballets a year. Sometimes the dancers will give talks to the audience members and sometimes they are in the lobby dancing or taking pictures with the children (at shows that attract lots of kids) I only wish they could always have live music all of the time, but I know that budgets are tight these days.

“Amazing Ballet Company!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We have been season ticket holders for the North Carolina Ballet. We have seen many shows and all have been wonderful but the latest performance of Rubies was fantastic!!! The costumes were stunning and the jazz style incorporated with traditional ballet was so much fun! Can't wait to see Romeo and Juliet & Sleeping a Beauty in the Spring!!!

“Who knew there was such a fine company in NC??”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We have been attending the Carolina Ballet at least once a year for the last 10. Having a rudimentary ballet background helps me to appreciate the fine artistry seen at each of the performances I've attended. I have been to ballets in some much larger areas and I would place this company right there with some of the best. They have three different venues in the triangle in which to perform. Last year we went to the Durham Performing Arts Center and were so happy we did, Watching the performance on a much larger stage from Grand Tier was magical. The costuming and sets are superb.Dancers are from all over the world and the artistic director has done a masterful job of building this world class ballet company.
