“Below Par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

Although previous meals at Bruno were excellent, tonight was a major disappointment. We were seated by a young lady who feins sohistication, but comes across as pompous. We had to ask for our menus after about ten minutes of curiosity, wondering when someone would notice. The server had an Italian accent, which may be impressive to some, but his lack of attention to tables was deplorable. He would butt kiss individuals he knew, while totally ignoring all others around him. I learned he was one of the managers....Wow! He should fire himself..The space was uncomfortable with too many tables in too small a space. The food tonight was no better than average. This place may appeal to some, but for those who desire an elegant atmosphere, great food and exceptional service. You will be disappointed indeed!

“Good food; excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We arrived for an early dinner in the middle of the week. The restaurant was basically empty. Not sure if this was the reason our service was very attentive. Nonetheless, Moises was very knowledgeable about both food and wine. The bread basket arrived to the table quickly and was warm. The calamari appetizer was very good. My husband's NY strip steak was cooked to order. The spices on the steak were especially tasty. The potatoes with the dish were nothing to write home about, but the green beans were very good. I had the Bourbon Rigatoni. The flavor was outstanding. However, the pasta was cooked just a little bit too long. It was not al dente. If this is not important to you, then I highly recommend this dish. As the evening wore on, the place became quite crowded with what appeared to be mostly after-business diners, which suggests that if you want to eat later, you may want to make reservations, even for mid-week. I will certainly return to Bruno Restaurant to try their other menu options.

“Slipping”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

I previously gave a good review for Bruno's but we were very disappointed in our last meal. Meat dishes seem to be pretty good. Daily seafood specials were extensive and sounded delicious but were unfresh. One of our friends ordered the farm raised trout that's always on the menu- I had a bite and wondered how he was even able to eat it- awful. There's no excuse for any fish or seafood to be mediocre but borderline rotten farm raised trout is inexcusable.
If you go here, stick with the meat or pasta dishes which seem to be pretty good.
Nice atmosphere and good service.

“Excellent”

Great steaks and really fresh seafood. You can tell Bruno pays special attention to every meal. Service was a little slow but the excellent food more than made up for this shortoming

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Found Brunos on Yelp while staying in Wake Forest on business. The food was excellent! - I would say on par with Mortons/Ruth's Chris and also in terms of price. Definitely a place to get dressed up for, although I saw people very underdressed, but anything seems to go these days. Being from NY, you cannot get a good 'wine by the glass' for $10 here, but in NC it seems that price actually affords you a great glass of wine. One of the best Cabernets I've ever had.
I cannot remember exactly what we ordered, but everything was great. The restaurant seems a bit hidden in a shopping/business complex. Even our navigation had trouble finding it, but Bruno's is worth finding. Thumbs up.
