“Best burgers in Raleigh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

If you like McDonalds or Burger King don't go here. At Chuck's they will serve you a gourmet burger made out of actual meat and other fresh ingredients.
The service is friendly and speedy, the food is excellent, and the price is right.

“4 of 4 stars for casual dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

(see explanation of ratings below)

Out of this world milkshakes! Add a shot of bourbon and I'm in heaven. The burgers and fries are very good, but the milkshakes may be the best in the Triangle.

About my ratings:

Only fine dining establishments can garner five stars. Until TripAdvisor realizes that a fast food joint cannot possibly be ranked equally with a $100 per person place, I need to draw the line somewhere. If we were only talking about the quality and presentation of the food, it would be a different story. But, as we know, TripAdvisor's rankings take into account the entire dining experience.

Therefore, I divide restaurants into three categories (and I wish TripAdvisor would do the same):

1) fast food (no table service)

2) casual dining (table service)

3) fine dining (linen napkins, no plastic cups, no TV's in dining room, typically more expensive than casual dining)

Fine dining can earn a max of five stars. Casual dining can earn a max of four stars. Fast food can earn a max of three stars.

“Neat Concept, but”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

The fries are excellent, but it is clear the focus on the burgers is the toppings. The burger patties themselves are very simple. I do like being able to get bottled specialty/regional soft drinks like Blenheim's Ginger Ale.

“Good place to go for a burger”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

Nice place to hang out with friends on the weekend for dinner and some drinks. The burgers are huge! 2 people can share one burger and a side of fries.

“The way burgers should be...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

If you are looking for a high quality burger, this is the place to go. Burgers are prepared medium with pink in the middle - not overcooked like most restaurants. Very juicy and tasty! I recommend the Dirty South and the special with Ashe County pimiento cheese (when they have it). My husband prefers a plain burger with cheese. All have been great. They also have veggie burgers and chicken sandwiches for the non-meat eaters. Fries were great, and you only need one order per 2-3 people. I highly recommend the lemonade - not too tart, not too sweet. Will definitely frequent this establishment.
