“One of the best hotels in the Raleigh area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

This is our third stay at the Renaissance/North Hills. The entire hotel is extremely clean, the rooms spacious, and the front desk personnel is very helpful. One odd/unusual situation did occur, however. We checked in just after 10pm and had to put our things in the room quickly as we had
a UNC hockey game to go to. We always put the "do not disturb" sign on the door knob whenever we check in- not sure exactly why, but we do. When we returned to our room a couple hours later, an envelope with another person's name was with a Renaissance convenience bag, full of snacks, on the business desk. It soon became apparent to us that hotel personnel entered our room after we checked in earlier that evening & put those items on the desk. We brought this to the attention of the morning front desk manager, who was equally concerned how this could have happened. She wasn't sure how it did happen, but apologized and, without hesitation, adjusted the room rate. Another reason, I guess, to make sure you always dead bolt your hotel room on the inside. I believe this was an isolated case and will continue to stay at this hotel whenever I'm in Raleigh.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the elevators & on the opposite side of I-440.

there is nothing to compare in Raleigh to this hotel. Beautiful, great staff, no better location. It will make any stay special. the location could not be better. The staff was most helpful. The decor and treatment made one feel special. The surrounding shops and restaurant make it the plave to saty.

Many thanks DoncoJones,

Our recipe is fairly straight forward; Each stay is an experience, and each guest is entirely unique in that their experience is their own. Our hope and objective is to meet you, greet you, and do whatever we can to engage and enhance your time with us. A clean property, and a nicely appointed property, is nice to look at. But add personalized service and sincere hospitality , and it becomes a place you want to be a part of.

Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you back soon.

After 3 stays in a very short period, I must say I have not been disappointed. It's clean, comfortable, welcoming and has a lovely ambiance. When you call housekeeping, they respond quickly and courteously. The staff in the Lounge were friendly and kind. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. If you want to shop, or dine outside this property has it all. Great feel to the place. And as a venue for large functions, the ballroom was lovely and the service excellent.

Room Tip: Just ask, they are very receptive to requests.

My husband and I were going to Raleigh for our 22nd anniversary. We wanted somewhere nice and close to entertainment, shopping, and dinning. North Hills was the perfect place. We were close to downtown and we could walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband called the day before our arrival and told them it was our anniversay and they upgraded our room. We will definately stay there again.

Booked this hotel for a last minute trip to meet my daughter for a couple days in a city near her college, and it was a fantastic choice! The hotel itself was tasteful, fresh and contemporary. We got a room on the club level and it was lovely with extremely comfortable beds, plenty of room to stretch out, and a generously sized bathroom that was full of high end toiletries. The club lounge had lots of breakfast choices (including bacon!) and it was fun pick up a dessert and hot tea before retiring to our freshly turned down room. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of lots of cute shops, a very nice movie theater, and so many delicious dining options from Five Guys burgers to Ben and Jerry's to Ruth's Chris Steak house and so many more. If that weren't enough, there is an adjacent Target, a spa and hair salon, with even more cute shops and a Total Wine just one block away. In fact, I can't think of a better enclave for a girls trip or even a romantic getaway! And the staff was first class--helpful, respectful, delightful in every way--definitely trained in the Ritz style of, "It would be my pleasure..." Upon checkout, I asked where the business center was to print out my boarding pass, and the desk clerk said it was down the hall, but instead offered to print it out for me from her own terminal. Every single interaction with a staff person was just that exceptional...we can hardly wait to stay there again!

Room Tip: Club level facing the front. 1026 was just great!

Many thanks Paige H,

You had me at “And the Staff was first class.” While all the style and appeal of the property, and the bells and whistles offered by North Hills, is an absolutely fantastic offering, we strongly believe all these parts are made brighter and more pleasurable when married to outstanding and engaging service. We truly enjoy what we do, and our folks sincerely enjoy engaging our guests, and finding a way to enhance and improve the Renaissance experience. That is what brought us to the #1 Ranking in GSS (Guest Satisfaction) for the second half 2012.

Thanks again, and I believe it was a really smart person that said “come see us again, soon”. (Author Unknown)

I have stayed at this hotel twice with a recent stay in December 2012.
Hotel rooms are classy and comfortable. The details in the room, the bed comfort and granite tops feel quite luxurious, particularly after long travel. Location in North Hills is a great area with several restaurants and shopping which you can walk to right outside the hotel's door.
Will be back again when staying in the Raleigh area.

Many thanks Cindy D,

We look forward to your return in the near future, and am thrilled that you enjoyed your Renaissance experience. When the day is over, and you’ve had your fill of all that North Hills has to offer just outside the front door, the bed has to be the deal closer. We look forward to showing off our new linens and duvets in early 2013, and I think you will agree they are both stylish and fantastically comfortable.

Thanks again, and we’ll see you soon.

What a beautiful and modern hotel! Restaurant food was excellent. Service everywhere was mostly impeccable. Our room was upgraded to a room with 2 double beds and a fold out sleeper sofa when I told the desk clerk I was traveling with my wife and 3 kids. Rooms and hallways very clean and spacious. Fitness center top notch as it is an adjoining upscale health club. TV in bathroom mirror was a thrill for kids.

Our only problem was that staff was not aware that the hotel website and the Marriott website had language which suggested that the "family rate/kids eat free promotion" was that up to 4 kids under 12 eat free with at least ONE adult buying an entree.
