“Great BBQ joint!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014 via mobile

Great food and decent prices. We tried the family style that is a 3 courses of all you can eat goodness. We were not disappointed. If you're visiting a Raleigh, you gave to stop at The Pit.

“Worth The Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

I love The Pits location in Durham, so I thought why not give this location a try? Went here with my boyfriend and our boys (we are a family of 6) for dinner to celebrate the upcoming grand opening of my new business and really enjoyed everything. We love food, but we love a deal more than anything. For less than $100, we had pulled pork, chopped barbeque, ribs, collard greens, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, potato salad, and dessert. We got more than our money's worth here. The portions are large and the service and food was excellent. Truly southern hospitality at its best. The restored 1930s meatpacking warehouse makes for a relaxing, nostalgic atmosphere. Pair great barbeque with a fine whiskey and you have a very happy man!

“A wonderful restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

You will love this restaurant! We went early and got seated immediately. You have to pay for parking after 4pm across the street. We got the family style meal....to much food, but great....the chopped pork was delicious. It was certainly an experience to say the least!

“Wonderful barbecue!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

Went with a group of 12 collegues. Wait was minimal as they take reservations. Service was great and speedy. I had the beef brisket and it was fabulous. I recommend highly to anyone wanting authentic east NC barbecue.

“Will be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

We took a day trip to Raleigh and The Pit is right near the train station so we got an early dinner before returning to Charlotte. Even at 3pm we had to wait for a table. Clearly a popular place. The BBQ and sides were excellent. Good beer selection too.
