We booked a block of rooms for a sports tournament in the area. The arrangements and reservation process were smooth, the rooms were nice (and big) and the location was quite good -- almost walking distance to lots of casual restaurant chains. It would have been nice if there was a grocery store nearby, but that's really just nit-picking.
There were some gaps, however
- The hotel seemed reluctant to provide space for a team pizza dinner. I asked twice and was told the only space was by the pool (which might have been fine if there were more than 8 chairs). Eventually, the manager offered up a meeting room which was great. But we shouldn't have had to jump through the hoops. The hotel obviously hosts all kinds of teams; this should be more straightforward.
- The fitness center was small but fine. But stinky. It needs some airing out.
- There were never enough towels at the pool. It seemed like the staff would only ever put out a handful at a time.
- Breakfast and internet were complimentary. Both were about what we'd expect, and you get what you pay for. That's not meant as a complaint -- just a reality check of what to expect.
