This restaurant, bakery and store is the dream child of a husband and wife who have fixed up a century-old house on Oriental's main street. Five days a week, they provide breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, they do eggs, pancakes and such, along with a breakfast sandwich selection. Lunch is sandwiches and salads. They buy locally as much as possible. They bake bread and other items in-house. At lunch, savvy locals call ahead and order food to take out -- back to their offices, boatyards and other places of work. We were steered here by friends who have lived in Oriental for many years. The husband of the team is a woodworker, and his cutting boards and other artisanal items are on sale. We also buy loaves of freshly-baked bread here. Try the spicy chicken sandwich, or the "tuna burger" or the chickpea Greek salad. My mother-in-law is a retired professional chef. On her recent visit, she requested a sandwich to go to take on her return flight, and expained exactly why it was exactly what her taste buds wanted.
