We got to Pony Island Motel on a Friday afternoon, we got a cute and clean room. Everything was nice and quiet at that point. I was disappointed about the swimming being right on the edge of the road where all the traffic was. The motel is located on the main road and there was a lot of traffic that day. The problem started in the evening when the motel started to fill up with bikers and pick up truck type crowd. The bikers would keep their engines on outside even though it was well after 10 pm. The motel walls are paper thin so expect to hear TVs and every conversation taking place next to yours. A couple in the room next to us woke us up around 1:00 am, they were obviously coming back for the bars--drunk, she was laughing uncontrollably and they horse played for about an hour. Then at 5:30 am the bikers were outside, about 6 Harley Davidson with their engines roaring a few feet from our beds. At this point we decided to pack up and leave, there was no way we could stay there another night. We left bikers's heaven on the first ferry and will probably never return. We should have tried the Edwards, probably more peaceful.
