“disappointed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2005

we were so disappointed in this place! gross! our bathtub was clogged and the floors were uneven. the walls are paper thin, woke up to drunk girls next door yelling "WHOOO" about every 15 minutes! parking is God awful!! no amenities! pool is about as big as our bathtub! there is a good view of the harbour though! we go to ocracoke almost yearly and we will never stay here again! try the pony island inn!

We stayed at the Anchorage Inn this past August. It was great. The pool was awsome and very well kept. (I saw the pool boy out there at 7am every morning getting it ready for us!) The staff were very helpful with recomendations on places to eat and things to see. We stayed in one of the suites, which is half the size of the hotel.( there are only 2 and they book up quick!) It is 5th floor with the best unobstructed view of the harbor and sunset. the suite was only for 2 adults but who wants to travel with a bunch of people? NOT ME!!! I hope this review helps people to decide that place is great.. And i will be calling on March 1ST 2006 for next years reservations..

We have been to Ocracoke many times before and this year we stayed at the Anchorage Inn. It is a great location, reasonable prices, very clean room and comfortable bed. We had an end balcony view of the harbor.

The staff people were extremely polite and helpful on ferry, restaurants, and fishing information. We enjoyed our stay very much.

I have read the other reviews and I think that the beds are great for us who don't sleep on a cloud every night. And there are 2 ice machines in the hotel one on the 4th floor and one on the 2nd. its an easy trip to the machines because they are the only hotels on the island with an elevator.. Oh well i guess u guys cant please everyone i know you are great and the staff is sooo friendly.. send the others who feel like that to myrtle beach to stay at a hyatt regency!!!!

love ocracoke island. I will return there this summer. Stayed at the anchorage inn and the thing i didn't like was being forced to stay in a smoking room on the main floor where all the noise is because we have a small dog. He is no trouble and stays in his own cage when in the room. Too much room deodorizer was sprayed in there ( not good for someone with asthma )

Never been to Ocracoke, we had no idea of what to expect. The island is a beautiful laid back place in May. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The fishing was great, with the outside bar at the marina across the road.
