“Excellent area museum for the Outer Banks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

The museum itself isn't really large, but it is packed with come cool history. I hadn't known there was a mounted boy scout troop, using the Ocracoke ponies. We saw anchors from wrecks off shore that were just huge. The coastline is littered with shipwrecks, called the graveyard of the Atlantic. Well worth the stop.

“Graft your soul to the heart of Ocracoke”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

Amy shared her life on Ocracoke in a way we felt like we grew up with her. Amy helped us find the perfect items to make our story of Ocracoke as rich as hers.

“Good start or finish to a Ocracoke visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This museum is located near the ferry dock and that allows for a nice visit on arriving or leaving the island. We chose to visit as we were leaving. It made for a relaxing visit and tied everything we had seen together from a historical perspective. Nice bookstore/ gift shop, attended by a friendly staff. If you don't hurry thru this little gem, there is much to learn.
