“Anniversary Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

My wife and I celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary at the Aerie on Aug. 15 and 16. We had a wonderful time. Michael and Marty were delightful hosts. They were very helpful, but respected our privacy. It was interesting to hear their story of how they acquired the Aerie and about their future plans to expand to another house across the street. We stayed in the Magnolia Room which was spacious and beautifully decorated. Have our own bath was a wonderful luxury. The bed was very comfortable. There are so many good things we could say, but simply say to anyone who is looking for a restful time, they should go to the Aerie. Thanks Michael and Marty for making our stay so wonderful.

My wife and I stayed at the Aerie B&B this past weekend. I have never stayed at a B&B before so I really had no idea what to expect. The hosts--Marty and Michael were the best. Great personalities--lots of local knowledge--they added so much to the weekend's enjoyment. The house itself was full of really interesting period antiques and just things to look at in amazement. I cant imagine how much work these 2 must have put into the place in the last 9 years. Breakfast at the Aerie is a real treat--not to be missed. We will be back--if you are considering staying here--I would say--do yourself a favor and do it!! Michael and Marty--Thanks for a wonderful weekend--see you next time!! Chuck & Joanne--

This was the second time that we stayed at the Aerie with our young daughter. We love the hospitality, the feel and decor, the comfortable beds, and the many small touches. New Bern is such a wonderful town for dining, and so historic. We will be back!

I liked the Aerie once we got there but you drive thru some rather sketchty areas to get there. The room was nice but the mattress really was awful. There was not a whole lot of late night activity the in New Bern either for snacks/drinks. It would have been better if some sort of food options for the evening would have been offered or provided. Not into wine and cheese.may go back. Not sure.

What a lovely place to stay and what gracious host and hostess. The perfect accommodations for two older love birds celebrating our fortieth anniversary. Thanks to Marty and Michael (who anticipate your needs before you do) our "romantic getaway" at the Aerie B&B is a memory we will cherish forever!

We had the best time at the Aerie. After reading other reviews, we chose to come to New Bern just to stay there, and it did not disappoint! Breakfast was great, there are so many things in walking distance, and I always enjoy a complimentary glass of wine in the evening. Just lovely!
