A very welcoming, relaxing B & B beginning with a socializing hour with wine & snack to a full gourmet breakfast and wonderful room. The staff is also wonderful and friendly.

the town of New Bern, NC was very much a surprise. the history the neighborhoods - just wonderful. I stayed in the hidden room and LOVED it! Very comfortable - bed and linens were great. so much light in the room - just what i needed - i had planned on staying only one night but made it two instead. The owners were very helpful and gracious

Room Tip: Hidden Room back of house lots of light private ee

We have stayed here before and loved it. The rooms are all well done and very comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic! Mike and Marty are wonderful hosts and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. The location is ideal for the shops, restaurants and the harbor. (Make sure you do the harbor walk.) Highly recommend this B&B. One of the best that we have stayed at.

Our one night stay was not enough; we wanted to LIVE in our cloud-like bed! We even bought their sheets! :-) The only thing that enticed us out were the super friendly hosts, the wine, and the scrumptious brecky. We were pleasantly surprised with the charm of New Bern, and being just a 2 minute walk to Tryon Palace was icing on the... icing! (It is an especially beautiful home.) We had fun pretending we were on our honeymoon - again. Michael and Marty are superb hosts. We couldn't recommend The Aerie more.

Room Tip: THE bed was in the Kennebec Room. Aaaaaaahhhhh....

We were fortunate to be able to spend two nights in Michael & Marty's fantastic B&B. We stay in B&B's whenever we can while travelling and hit one out of the park at the Aerie. The social hour was so much fun and not the least bit intimidating. Michael has menus for the local restaurants and makes your reservations-----nice touch for us out-of-towners. We were in the Magnolia Suite and surrounded by luxury. The linens are the best we've ever experienced. The plumbing was extremely quiet. In many old homes the plumbing is the weakness. Breakfast was SO tasty and SO elegant. We thought Michael was joking when he said we should bring our camera to breakfast. We can't recall having such a beautiful breakfast before! We loved being able to walk everywhere. New Bern has so much to offer. We came away from the Aerie with the feeling that we were very privileged to be able to stay there.

Michael and Marty are excellent hosts and have thought of everything. The Aerie is decorated beautifully and the rooms are supplied with luxurious bedding and towels. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever eaten. We will definitely return to The Aerie on any future trips to New Bern!

The Aerie may be a little hard to find; keep a sharp lookout for the small sign. You can park in the driveway while checking in; the little parking lot is in the back. You will have to negotiate a few steep steps, then a raised entryway to enter the inn.

We stayed on the ground floor Carolina Room which was posh but not overdone or too "girly". Our hosts made us feel like valued, welcomed guests in their home, and Banjo the official dog greeter was so cute. They unobtrusively ensured that the guests enjoyed visiting with each other at the cocktail hour, made sightseeing and restaurant recommendations, and handled reservations for us. The wines served were delicious.

After one of the best night's sleep we've ever had, we enjoyed an elegantly presented multicourse breakfast. Our one regret was that we could only stay one night here.

Room Tip: Choose the Carolina Room if stairs are a problem
