We were looking for a special place for our anniversary. We wanted something a little more elegant than the typical coastal fish restaurant.... Although those are fine too! There are not many tables and on a Saturday night they were willing to reserve a table for two so that was a good thing since they were full when we arrived. The waiter was knowledgeable without attitude. Great service and he brought us flutes of Prosecco for our special occasion on the house. We ordered the salmon and the short ribs. First rate flavor and imaginative preparation ....can't say enough about it.

We chose to eat lunch at 247 because the posted prices seemed reasonable and it was convenient as we walked the area. Our waitress was very attentive and anticipated our needs. My water was filled regularly – a plus for me. We were asked if we wanted separate checks – yes, and then asked if we wanted a box for our left overs. She took our plates and did the boxing for us in the kitchen. I ordered the pulled pork which was tasty but a little on the dry side. The ambiance was also a plus although the chairs were a bit on the small size and may be a bit uncomfortable for a larger person. I would definitely go back and recommend 247 to anyone visiting and walking the area in New Bern.
