“Beach at Nags Head”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2010

There seemed to be a lot of questions regarding the beach at Nags Head. We were there 3 weeks ago and we had a wonderful time. The beach was great too. There wasn't any damage in the area where we stayed which was around marker #17. In fact, I didn't see any damage anywhere. I'm posting a few pictures to confirm this.

“Great destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2010

We rented a beach house and had a great time. Nags Head has lots of parking near the beach with beach access if you don't get a house right on the beach. The Outer Banks has everything you need- lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. It's a busy place in the summer. If you want a more quiet and quaint town then maybe it's not the place to go.

“Here's Looking at You”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2010

The 8th Wonder of the World-The Outer Banks -a place to go if you appreciate beautiful things. The Outer Banks offers white sandy beaches as well as crisp cool blue waves that crash along the shore and provide a natural playground to many different species of marine life as well as dolphins gracefully chasing one another through the billowing waves as the tide changes-You can walk along the beach in the morning and enjoy the warmth of the sunrise as it appears almost from no where across the Atlantic or you can walk off into the sunset as the ocean prepares itself for another night of blissful sleep. The Outer Banks has some much to offer. Maybe you'll even be lucky enough to see the wild horses that roam it's shore grazing on the wide variety of vegetation that flourishes throughout it's banks. My family and I have been enjoying its beauty for more then ten years and will continue to come back every year as long as the Sea will have us- Come spend your vacation in the OBX-they'll leave a LIGHT on for you---Mrs. V Stelly -DeWitt Va.

“Relaxing in the OBX”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2009

We have gone to the OBX off and on for the past 25 years. It's the perfect place if you want to relax and forget about problems for a little while. We rent a house on the beach for a week and the whole family goes. It's not commercialized like many beach areas are. Mostly residential. Good family vacation spot. There's things to do if you want, such as the Wright Brothers Memorial, a ferry trip to Ocracoke island, water sports, etc. Or you can just stay at the house or the beach and relax and do nothing! You can rent a small house or a mansion with many amenities. It's affordable when you have a group and can split the cost. The weather wasn't the greatest during our stay this year, but we still had an awesome time. I would recommend the outerbanks for anyone that wants to get away for a quiet vacation, or a family gathering or even a wedding or other special event. It's beautiful!

“Great getaway, but still close to some activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2009

We enjoyed Nags Head this year during our annual family vacation. Nags Head was relaxed, yet still close to various activities. The Nags Head YMCA was very close to where we stayed which was nice also. Good selection of restaurants, grocery stores, shopping nearby but not overly commercialized or crowded. The beach was perfectly clean also.
