“Awesome Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2009

This place was great! Our room was huge with refrigerator, iron, plenty of towels.
Our beds were very comfortable and the bed linens were great, clean and very nice.
We stayed on the road front, but that was not a problem we were on the 5th floor in room 504. I can't say enough about how nice and how please we were with our room.
The indoor pool are was clean and nice. They are right on the beach and have there own access straight out to the beach. We will stay here again. The free continental breakfast was great also.

I decided to pick this hotel based on reviews for my boyfriend's birthday and we were extremely pleased! Check-in was at 4pm but we got there early at 1:30 and they got the room ready quicker for us at 2pm. We had an ocean view room which was really clean and roomy. The microvave and little fridge in the room was an added bonus and both were brand new and clean.

We wanted a waterfront location for a long weekend but couldn't justify the cost of a partial week vacation house rental, so we decided on a waterfront hotel. The Nags Head Inn was running a deal where you paid for 3 nights and got 1 night free, so we picked this one. THE GOOD: Hotel is right on the beach with its own beach access so that was great. We got a waterfront room w/balcony (3rd floor) so we had a nice view of the ocean. There are bathrooms accessible from outside so you can run in from the beach to use instead of going all the way to your room. There is a hose and outdoor shower for rinsing off sand before going to your room or the indoor pool/hot tub. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. There is a complimentary coffee/juice/pastry/ham biscuit breakfast served each morning on the 2nd floor. THE BAD: Our room felt damp and had a damp/musty smell. The bathroom was very small.

Just returned from a four night stay (book 3 nights get a 4th free). We booked last minute looking for a short and quick getaway and saw this deal. Max occ was 5 so it worked out just fine for 2 adults and three children. We got a rollaway in a 2 double, non-smoking streetside room. Everything was better than I expected.

Pros - Check in was easy. Hotel located right on the beach with its own access. Plenty of space on the beach to spread out. Parking is directly in front of the beach access so we kept our chairs and boogie boards in the truck. Bathrooms and showers to rinse off in the same area. Room was clean, had a microwave, mini fridge, flat screen TV, desk/chair, dinette table w/2 chairs, sliding glass door (no balcony) so we could drape our damp towels over the rail. Ice, soda and snack machines on the floor. Housekeeping came same time everyday. Asked for extra towels w/no problem. Security is good from what I can tell. A non-guest parked their car for the private beach access and was told to leave as he carried his cooler. Also, I had checked out but realized I left my kid's toy in one of the drawers. A hotel staffer accompanied me back up but trailed behind. I asked one of the housekeepers who was in front of my room to let me in and he politely refused and said for security reasons he couldn't. (Good answer.) The hotel was very quiet even though they had no vacancy.

Cons - No outdoor pool. There's an indoor heated pool and a jacuzzi but they're small and again they're indoor. Okay for a short stay but not many amenities beyond that. Beds were comfortable but too springy. Movement on one end "shook" the other.

Overall, I couldn't complain. It's an average hotel with its biggest advantage being the only beachfront hotel within miles of it. I plan to rent a house next summer for a week but for a shorter stay and the right deal, I'd stay here again.

Our family has been coming to the Nags Head Inn twice a year for nine years. It is a very nice hotel. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly. They know us by name now and they are actually more our friends than hotel staff. They remodeled and upgraded in 2008-2009. Every room now has a nice size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, etc... There are new bedspreads, wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms. The pool is very clean and is decorated very nice and kid friendly with decorative kites hanging from ceiling, rat inner tubes for the kids, etc... The only thing that would make this hotel even better is if they offered a complimentary breakfast buffet. Coffee is provided downstairs in the morning
My highest recommendation. A+++++++++++++++++++++.

I was concerned when we booked this hotel for a friends wedding weekend, that the hotel would not be of good quality due to it being priced lower than many of the other hotels in the area. I was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very professional, quick and friends, the location was great- being close to night life and one row back from the beach. I was impressed and felt very safe in the hotel.
