“Worth the $ to book an oceanfront room, great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Great place. We stayed here for one night. This hotel is conveniently located near Jenette's Pier and the Bodie Island lighthouse. It's also right near the Manteo/Nags Head causeway so you aren't far from The Elizabethan Gardens or the Lost Colony. Restaurants/shops aren't far either as this hotel is located maybe one street over from the main drag. Front desk staff was very informative and nice during the check-in process. We had an oceanfront room on the 3rd floor (room 309). The room was very clean and still smelled new. I think it was recently renovated. King size bed (very comfortable) as well as a pull out sofa. TV/microwave/coffee maker, etc. Has a great pool/Jacuzzi area and the common areas were all very pretty and well kept. Had a pretty great time with this hotel. The views were great. The only thing I would recommend though is not use Expedia or other travel sites to book. The front desk staff told me upon check out that using those sites actually makes you pay more than what the hotel actually charges. Go directly to this hotels website to make reservations, nagsheadinn.com. We may consider using these guys for our honeymoon next year as they do have a honeymoon suite.

Room Tip: The higher the room then the better your ocean front view. We had a 3rd floor room (#309) and the v...

Thank you for your review of your stay at the Nags Head Inn. We just completed renovations to all of our guest bathrooms plus all of the glass was replaced in the oceanfront rooms for an even better view of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. We are glad that you liked our "new look".

All of our guests are important to us no matter what method they use to make their reservations. You can reserve a room directly with the hotel (thru our web site or by phone) or thru any of the on-line travel sites. (As you noted, reservations made directly thru the hotel are not subject to booking fees). With all of the hotels on the Outer Banks we are glad that you chose to stay at the Nags Head Inn.

We hope that you do decide to vacation on the Outer Banks for your honeymoon. It is a great area to visit and staying in our honeymoon suite could make it even more memorable.

We went for a wedding, and we had a blast. You can find a more reasonable place price wise, but will they be as friendly? It was clean! Which I love, I do wish they had a seating area in lobby maybe with a bar, but you can't have everything. They recommended a great spa for me, directed to the local great spots and was just so helpful overall! Next time I go I would stay there again.

Stayed four nights in early May. The staff was very friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was good. Stayed on the fifth floor and the view of the ocean was awesome. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May and had a great time! This hotel is located right on the ocean, but also right across the highway from restaurants and a grocery store. The staff was very friendly and the hotel very clean! We would 100% return!

Very nice facility, pool and spa are small, continental bkft just that....juice, sweet potato biscuits, coffee/tea. Room on street side, could hear some traffic but mostly quiet during night, large, clean, comf with a great shower. Miss Sheryl who oversees bkft area very helpful. Front desk staff also helpful and pleasant

Room Tip: Room 514 on street but road noise not a big problem

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

The Nags Head in is really a wonderful place to get away from it all. It seems to have a marvelous calming effect on us. Maybe it was because it was so close to the ocean. It is family owned and has been refurbished to a high standard. The oceanfront rooms are great, as you can watch the sunrise and see the pelicans and all the fun on the beach. They have a little breakfast, with coffee, juice and buns. You can sun on the deck or go for a swim in the indoor pool or go for a long walk on the beach. It is close to everything from shopping to sightseeing. We were enjoying it so much we wanted to stay and extra night, and the hotel was kind enough to accomodate us without having to change rooms. Come to think of it, I should book this September right now.

Room Tip: They have elevators so seniors don't have to worry about higher rooms.

Thank you for your review of your Spring stay at the Nags Head Inn. We are glad that we are able to provide you with the atmosphere to truly unwind and relax. Watching an ocean sunrise from your balcony is a great way to start each day.
September is also a great time to visit the Outer Banks – warm days and mild nights are the norm and the temperature of the ocean water is usually still warm enough for swimming. We will be looking forward to your return in the Fall.

We chose the Nags Head Inn based on other Trip Advisor reviews, and were not disappointed. We arrived early, and they took our number and said they would let us know when the room was ready - and called us about 30 minutes later to say it was all set. We were given a top floor room, and as we entered, saw the view of the ocean before us - breathtaking! Well worth the extra money - don't miss it. We got the special rate (pay for 3, get 4 nights); price was well within, if not cheaper than what others charge. Room was spotless, had a one-cup coffeemaker; they had a 'hospitality room' downstairs with coffee and sweet potato biscuits and pastries in the morning, if you did not want to go out for a big breakfast. Staff was friendly, and good a recommending places to eat when we asked. All in all, we had a great 4 day stay, and I would hightly recommend the Nags Head Inn.

Room Tip: 4th or 5th floor get the best ocean views, because of the dunes. Street side upper floors get a sou...

Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us at the Nags Head Inn. We are glad that you enjoyed your 5th floor oceanfront room. All of the glass on the oceanfront was just replaced as part of our renovations so the views of the beautiful Atlantic Oceans are even more spectacular then they were before.
