“Surprise Fishing Pier Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

The day after New Year's we were returning from Manteo..saw the Jeannette's Pier sign. It was cold/blustry/w/dramatic waves. This is a new pier (2yrs) Entrance is inviting w/ all sorts of educational boards of reference and statistics. We were greeted and encouraged to take the walk/1000 ft over the ocean. Lots of fun..photos etc. Sort of "everyone should do this" type of thing. The gift shop was standard Park Services type. The restaurant Sam and Omie's was closed, but summer must bring lots of visitors. A fee of $2 is suggested as a contribution to support upkeep.

“A modern wind powered fishing pier”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

During our winter vacation (Christmas week) at Kill Devil Hills, we tried fishing at Jennette's Pier on a cold sunny morning. Although we didn't catch anything, we enjoyed walking on the pier and the view to the ocean. Somebody told us they saw dolphins earlier on. We didn't see the aquarium as it was under repair. The facilities are excellent, as you would expect from a $25 million project and a pier that was reopened in 2011. We learned that the old pier was destroyed by Hurricane Isabel in 2003. It costs $12 to fish and $2 to walk. We can imagine the pier teeming with activities during peak fishing season.

“Jennette's Pier awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Since the new pier has opened we have found a way to visit every week. We live in the Outer Banks so getting there is a matter of driving three miles. What I love about the new improved pier is that you have sections where you can stop and just visit with friends or watch the marine life out in the ocean. Great place to go

“A bit if everything ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

This peri is great for families as it has a small aquarium/fish tanks, classroom with programs and excellent views of fishers and surfers. Mt two young nephews loved watching My husband surf today. Also, admission is free (suggested $2 donation)!

“Solid, concrete pier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

I visit OBX during T'giving week every year and make it a point to visit Jeannette's pier. There's a Red Drum tournament, with lots of people fishing from the pier (and from the beach) and sometimes there are surfers. Great picture taking opportunities. The pier has interesting info posted on the walls, and it's neat to read all the names printed on commemorative fish tiles with each step you take going out to the end. Gift shop has food, which I haven't tried.
