“Absolutely Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013 via mobile

Everything about this place is perfect. The menu is small but confined to fresh local ingredients that make the offerings truly exceptional. This place offers something truly different in the OBX dinning scene. The menu is imaginative and perfectly executed. The service could not be better, and the view is one of the best in the area. I wish I could eat here every day!!!

“Ought to be # 1”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Brine and Bottle is not your usual outer banks dining experience. We have made several visits and it is the one place we always go when we're close enough. The chef is a master; we have never been disappointed. Tonight we had the exquisite shrimp and grits and an equally commendable sea trout. There are no fillers or extras on the plate; everything blends together and is to be eaten and enjoyed. Service is impeccable. Value is excellent. Brine and Bottle is a fine dining must.

“Wonderful ---”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

This is a small restaurant with a small menu that is big on imagination. The menu changes daily and if you look on-line you will see the day before's menu. Most items will be similar but there will be changes when you see the actual menu of the day when you arrive. Reservations are a must during the busy season; there are only 5 or 6 tables for four inside (plus seating for 6 or so at the "bar".) There is outside seating overlooking the sound that can be wonderful...or not, weather dependent. Their take on shrimp and grits is totally different than any other we've had...and absolutely delicious. Baked rockfish, rack of lamb, steamed clams, short ribs -- all have been perfectly cooked with imaginative sides. Prices are on the higher end, but good locally sourced food, cooked excellently, doesn't come cheap. A nice selection of wine and beer is available. Service is attentive without being intrusive. We love this place and have been here several times in the past few weeks.

“Bacon Jelly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We went inside the Brine and Bottle to get some of their famous Bacon Jelly. It is a bit pricey but we brought two home, one for the housesitter and one for ourselves and it was delicious

“A hidden gem in Nags Head”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

If you like creative food prepared by an accomplished chef, go here while visiting the Outer Banks. There are several small plates and not so small plates which change a bit weekly depending upon what is available to the chef. We loved everything we tried and the best way to get a flavor of what they prepare is to go to their website and review the current menu. The co-owner and beverage manager asked what kind of wine we like, let us sample one wine we were not sure of and suggested another which we ordered: a Slovenian Pinot Grigio produced at a winery on the border with Italy. A real find at a nice price. (Look at her resume on line as well.) Its a small place, so reservations are recommended unless the weather is nice and you can usually find a table on the deck overlooking the water (at least during non-season.) We will definitely be back when we visit the OBX.
