“A place to sleep and get to beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Very basic small room and bathroom for family of four, but price was right for a short, last-minute stay. Third floor was quiet during out stay and offered nice view of ocean from balcony. No breakfast or pool, but microwave and fridge in room. Staff was very friendly. Room smelled very much like mildew and A/C was obnoxiously loud, but room was clean overall. Short walk to beach and pier. Not a luxury hotel by any means, but cheap and convenient.

Room Tip: Avoid room with 2 double beds for family of four...too tight.

I had a very pleasant stay here. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and newely remodled, the staff polite and helpful. It's directly across from a little convenient store and the Jannette Pier. Not directly on the beach but directly across the street from it. Room cost was very reasonable. Only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating is the room size was a little cramped for myself, spouse, & 2 kids. Still I absolutely will stay here again on my next OBX trip!

It's your basic room, a place to sleep and shower. We giggled when we saw the advertised "flat screen plasma tv." I think the screen on my desktop computer is bigger. But not a big deal ... We didn't go to the beach to sit in the room and watch tv. Shower stall is tiny, barely room enough to turn around, and the shower curtain was apparently cut in half, with the other half presumably used in another room, so it just barely kept the water out of the rest of the bathroom. From the third floor, we had a nice view of the ocean. Good location. Basically right at the turn to Rt. 12, right next door to Sam & Omie's (plan well ahead for breakfast there on the weekends, though), and directly across from Jeanette's Pier and Cahoon's Market. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would probably stay there again.

We stayed in the cottage section which is like a little house. We were right next door to Sam & Omies and right across from Jeanette's Pier so we were in a convenient location to access food and the beach. My only wish was that the bathrooms were bigger. Cottage had a full kitchen, stove, oven, mini fridge, microwave. We didn't use the stove or pots and pans. Towels weren't the best and I bought sheets from Kmart down the street to put over top their sheets. They didn't look too hot!

We enjoyed our stay of 2 days along with our 2 dogs. We felt welcome and at ease and our dogs enjoyed the breezes and the beach at Nags Head. The room was small, but still comfortable and clean. There was an area for the dogs to do their business, I only wish other folk would be courteous and pick up after their dogs. My only complaint was the parking. Our room was on the ground floor and there was a parking space 2 feet from our door and there was always someone parked there. In the early morning when they left, they were quite noisy and we were rudely awaken. That is not enjoyable when you are on vacation, otherwise I would return again and try a different room.

Room Tip: More privacy on the upper floors

This was our 2nd stay here. I LOVE that it is pet friendly. The girl at the desk was friendly, courteous, and efficient. We loved the room..had one of the larger ones on the 3rd floor with a mini kitchen area..table and chairs, stove, microwave, fridge and surrounded by windows. Just loved it. My only area of needs in improvement would have been the pillows.
It is in a great locations..right across from Jeanette's pier..Sam and Omie's restaurant, and Cahoon's market across the street. We will definitely come back :)

Even though we didn't have pets we still gave The Rodeway Inn and Suites a try. We knew going in that there may be a chance of the room smelling like dog but surprisingly it did not. We found this 40 year old motel/hotel in a pleasant state due to it's recent renovations. The rooms have a simple decor that make you feel like you are at the beach. The staff and owner are extremely nice. You couldn't ask for a better location.

Pros- Right next door to Sam & Omie's!!! Directly across the street from Jennette's Pier!!! Directly across the street from public beach accesses and public restrooms. Right by the bridge to Manteo. The price is great!

Cons- Shower is too small. No elevator. We were in a suite on the third floor and it would wear you out if you had to go up and down the stairs a lot. WiFi was very slow.

Room Tip: The third floor suites have a view of the ocean. You are right next to the street so you will hear...
