Really big sand dune. Worth the climb. With more time, would have signed up for hang gliding. Loved the view. Interesting interpretive center, too.

“AMAZING”

This was my favorite part of our trip to the Outer Banks! It was unreal, our 2-year old had so much fun, and we did too!

“Natural Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Stunning views - anyone can do the climb on a fair weather day, just take your time. Didn't expect to see ponds of water in the middle of the dunes, but there were there like an oasis in the middle of a desert.

“What fun!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Great place to hike, picnic, fly kites or sit on the dunes. Beautiful place to watch sunset! It is free! You can spend hours here! It is an amazing place to be in awe of God's creation!

“Climb”

Nice for a change of pace on the outer banks. Take the trail and climb the dunes for a nice view of the sound. If you keep to the wet sand, it's easier hiking....ha ha
