Owner description: Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

“We love this place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

We love Mt. Airy and it's just far enough from home that we feel like we are getting out of town for a weekend getaway! The Old North State Winery and Brewery is one of our new favorite places to have a glass of wine and a good meal while visiting. The bar tenders are super friendly, the people that come into the restaurant are tons of fun and the wine is just great. Try the baked pimento and bacon tapas - and the Fish Hippy Chardonay - they are to die for! Every time we come here we have a great time and leave with new friends. Enjoy!

“Great music, food and wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

We had a great time at open mic night. This place has great music, good food plus good wine. They have sandwiches and salads for lunch plus pizza and a tapas menu at night. It's definitely worth stopping by.

“Great place for a number of reasons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

Whether it's the music, food, or spirits, this place has a something for everyone. The cuban is fantastic, the american classic is classic, and the nachos on the tapas menu might be the best I have ever had. Craft beer and a great wine never hurt, either.

“Excellent Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Stopped in and enjoyed the wine testing. We tried the sweet wines and for $5, we sampled six wines. We also had food from the deli and it was very good. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. This is a neat place to stop at in Mt. Airy.

“Wine Tasting Was Fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

For the wine tasting you can choose six dry or six sweet wines for $5. My favorite on the dry side was the Restless Soul (red wine blend of Malbec/Cab), which is a STEAL at $10 per bottle.
The pours at the wine tasting are nice as well, not just a tiny drop.
