“Amazing sleep, but some service issues.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

The Cambria Hotel is located right next to RDU airport which is helpful if you want to get to your hotel room fast. It's located on a dead end street with a couple other hotels, but not much else around (no food or entertainment). I have stayed with this hotel in another city and deliberately chose it because I know the company provides good quality hotel rooms.

The room was extremely clean and the overall hotel seemed to be well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I got a great night of sleep.

Service at this hotel was a bit of a disappointment. I was going to buy breakfast the next morning( they do not have free breakfast) but after nearly 10minutes of waiting, no staff members were there to assist. So I didn't buy breakfast. Also, I had a "do not disturb" sign on my hotel room door, but received a loud knock from housekeeping at 8:45am, who wanted to know when I would be out of the room.

Thank you for your review. We are very glad you enjoyed your comfortable clean suite, that provided you the opportunity for a great nights sleep. Our entire staff works very hard to insure those key elements, and to deliver the type of friendly service that makes you want to return

Having said that, please accept all of our apologies for having miss cue'd on breakfast and with housekeeping disturbing you. I know the second item has already been addressed, we have been discussing the subject in our morning meeting the last two days. I'm looking into what might have happened at breakfast, so that you would not have that experience again.

We hope we have another opportunity to provide you the superior experience you expect and deserve on your next trip to the Raleigh / Durham area.

We stayed here because of the ratings and close proximity to the airport. The rooms are very clean with plenty of room. The entire property is well kept. The front desk staff was very friendly. They had arranged for our cab and it was on the way when we checked out for our flight very early the next morning. We ate a late night meal at the grill and the food was very good. The waitress and chef are nice and went out of their way to talk with us. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We appreciate your telling us about your experience, and glad you were pleased! We have many guests that stay with us to get a head start on an early morning flight, we see them every day. Our Bistro Bar, is perfect for an evening meal, and Maria and Chef Doug will spoil you if you let them.

Thank you again for staying with us.... We know you had a choice, and we really appreciate your choosing us!

Have stayed here twice, with consistent service. Rooms are well designed, and they feel bigger than they are. Desk staff polite and helpful. We had an issue with our in room refrigerator and was immediately handled. The maintenance guy actually reloaded our drinks into the re fridge after replacing it. Only negative is at my rate they charged a per diem for airport parking, and they also charge for breakfast. They do provide coffee, supposedly for 24 hrs but it was inconsistently available or cold in the afternoon and evening. There is an in room coffee maker. They do have a nice little bar service at night. All staff were usually wearing smiles, and the managers were usually out and about, not hiding in the office. Rooms were clean with plush towels for a hotel at this price point. There is a steakhouse across the street, but otherwise it's sort of by itself in the culdesac by the airport. The airport shuttle prompt and runs all the time.

Room Tip: High floor less foot traffic, but you hear the jets starting at 6 AM.

Thank you for staying with us and we are glad you enjoyed being with us overall. We pride ourselves on always being friendly, going that extra step, and giving that service that makes you want to return again. Hope to see you again soon!

Please let us address those two issues. We do charge a daily rate for parking, but only for the days your car is here but your not registered in the hotel. There is never a chrge for parking for guests staying with us. Of course we do provide our airport shuttle back and forth for free, and what we charge for having your car with us is half of what the airport charges. We do charge for breakfast too, as does Marriott Courtyard and Hilton Garden Inn which are similar hotels. Our breakfast buffet offers so much more than is typically available on those free breakfast, and we always offer the option of having your eggs freshly cooked to order.

Nice room, close to the airport and friendly staff.

However, get ready to hold on to your bed at 06 when the first air planes comes or take off. The breakfast was also not impressing see from a European standard.

Thank you for review, and the kind words about our hotel and my staff. I do aplogize if the aircraft noise from RDU disturbed you at an early hour. So much of that depends on which way the wind was blowing that day, and most guests comment the aircraft never bothers them. I think we may have caught you on a day where things were busier than usual.

This is not what you would normally expect to encounter when you stay with us, please stay with us again and we'll prove it to you.

My husband and I enjoyed the location of this hotel because of its proximity to the concert venue and local restaurants and bars. We had a nice overnight here and the staff was welcoming. The room was clean, and perfect for our needs.

Not the best location if you aren't flying in/out of rdu as it's close but not super convenient to any dining options or shopping but it's nicely in the middle of Brier Creek and Southpoint areas. Clean, comfortable, large rooms. Staff is friendly. Nice cafe in lobby though wished it was open more hours. Only odd thing is the smell of chlorine by the elevators probably due to the close proximity to the pool. Hot tub is nice but pool area seemed a bit dirty. Great place overall and would return.

Thank you for your nice vote of support. We like to think we are in the center of everything because we are situated between the cities Raleigh and Durham. And your right, we don't sit directly in with the dining and shopping options, but we are less than 10 minutes away.

We are really happy you enjoyed your stay overall though! My staff and I look forward to having you back again sometime soon!

Stayed here on a business trip over night. Very pleased with the accommodations, very pretty hotel, staff was very pleasant. Had a nice breakfast buffet in the morning with many options, even healthy options. Expansive lobby, comfortable room, the shower build-out was unique. Would stay here again.
