On the plus side, the hotel and the rooms were clean and I didn't hear noise from other rooms.
I chose this hotel and paid more than for the Fairfield specifically because the website states there are 2 tv's in the room. May not seem like such a big deal to most, but I knew we were going to be in the room the majority of the night and most of the next morning and DH and I don't watch the same programs. Anyway, I didn't ask to be moved to another room since DH hates when I complain and am a grump and have the nerve to ask for and actually want what I paid for!!
We must have gotten the smallest king sized room in the place. Not much room to move around in the bedroom area. This hotel had the absolute worst pillows of any hotel I have ever stayed in. They were beyond terrible. Plus, I thought the bed was awful, but DH said it wasn't so bad(he travels for business and evidently has had some pretty terrible beds through the years). The sheets were thin and scratchy and the towels were small. I know we weren't at The Ritz Carlton, but this isn't your budget hotel either...Well, at least not for the price charged.
We requested and were told there was no problem with a late check out. We only needed an hour past 11 am. However, at 9 am, the maid was knocking on the door. Come on front desk and housekeeping, do a little coordinating and communicate with each other. Then........at precisely 11 am, our key cards were deactivated. I had walked out of the room to get some ice and came back and the key would no longer work. DH let me in and I tried his key which also didn't work. Called the front desk and the clerk asked if I wanted her to come up with new keys or if I could come down and let her make new keys. Since I had noticed earlier that she was all alone, I went downstairs and got new keys. Not a big deal, but a real inconvenience.
Breakfast was just ok, but the two ladies taking care of the breakfast area never said a word or cracked a smile. They just stood there. Oh well, no big deal since I don't know what is going on in their lives, but a greeting is always nice to have.
I wouldn't choose this particular hotel again if I had a choice.
