“Decent place, would stay again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2011

I should preface by saying I'm VERY critical of hotels and pretty much no cheaper hotel will be perfect for me. That said, I feel comfortable in this hotel for the most part.

Pros:
The windows open!!! LOVE that!!!

Love the bed linens, just a sheet and nice down comforter. Hotel bed dressings are usually extremely annoying to me. Good pillows too.

Room with one king bed was nice and roomy.

Bathroom was clean.

Refrigerator and microwave in the room.

Staff is really nice and accomodating.

Free wireless internet.

Decent breakfast.

Cons:
Lobby and hallways smell bad.

Our room smelled bad too, mold I think, but they quickly offered to either switch the room or put a de-humidifier in. We did the latter and it helped a lot.

Carpet and room furniture looks older and not in the best shape.

The staff at this hotel was wonderful, especially Chris VanderHorst and James at the front desk. They were knowledgable, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

Breakfast was great as was the manager's reception on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed.

The customer service at this hotel was great and special kudos to Chris and James for making our visit so pleasant.

Room Tip: Wonderful Hotel Staff

We were greeted like an old friend when we arrived at this motel. (Some reviewers have complained about it being difficult to find, but that's a problem with divided highways and missed turns. The second time you drive up, there's no problem.) The front desk was helpful and generous, upgrading us to a suite. It's a shame that smoking and non-smoking rooms share the same floors, but inside the room you could not tell.

While the hotel was filled with a youth basketball team, there was little wait and nothing run out of on the breakfast bar on a busy Saturday morning.

The room was great, the bed comfortable (even synthetic pillows to replace the down versions for those with allergies) and lots of room.

We'll be back.

Room Tip: higher numbered rooms are further from smoking

I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The bed and room were extremely comfortable (actual fluffy pillows and soft sheets and comforter). The room itself was clean and spacious. Much like the surrounding area of North Carolina, the staff was polite and went out of their way to help. With the breakfast, there were a variety of items to choose from, including sausages, waffles, yogurt, danishes, fruit, juice, and coffee. For a very reasonable price, this is a great place to stay. I definitely recommend it!

As several reviewers suggested, this hotel is hard to find even with GPS and closely located to industrial area. There are bunch of construction contractors hanging out at manager's reception after work. I have never seen any female traveler, family or elderly guests in this hotel who are frequent guests of Country Inns. My room was not clean and had some smell when I entered, HVAC unit was working loud all night. This area is definitely not for family. Their breakfast area is not very sanitary. I have never seen such a restaurant or lounge for eating. I thought I was in third world countries. Don't stay here.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We had to change rooms because the HVAC unit in the first room didn't work. The room we were moved to was right next to the elevator, but we never heard a thing. The breakfast was mediocre at best, but there were fresh baked cookies when we checked in.

Excellent place to stay for volleyball or basketball tournaments at Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, NC. Difficult finding the entrance in the dark, had to do a u-turn from the main road but not a big deal in daylight. Great breakfast, indoor pool too small for a bunch of teenagers but great for younger children. Staff very friendly. No complaints. Will stay again next tournament.
