“One of the highlights of our ride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

A group of seven riders set out on our 14th annual Spring ride that, this year, would take us to the Wheels Through Time Museum at Maggie Valley, NC, as one of our stops. We began our annual pilgrimages with strict planning of nightly stops and even gas stops done way in advance. A few years ago, with the advent of smartphones, we found that making plans on the fly more suited our needs. Last week, as we stopped for gas in Tennessee, a couple of days prior to our stop at Maggie Valley, I went to Trip Advisor to check the lodging situation at Maggie Valley for our upcoming arrival and lo and behold, I found A Holiday Motel, with overwhelmingly positive remarks and decided to call and book four (4) rooms for us as they were nearly sold out. The rate listed on the internet was $59/night which I felt was unbelievably inexpensive! On our arrival a day later after another amazing day of great riding, we pulled into the parking lot and on entering the office, Gabby had our reservations waiting and never missed a beat when I told her we had reservations. She was almost clairvoyant, never even asked my name! I was reassured that we'd made the right choice, seeing the parking area in front of the rooms filled with motorcycles! We'd really found a home! Gabby gave us the run down of what was available to see and do, eating recommendations and the museum particulars and we parked and stowed our gear in our rooms and walked across the lot to an inviting swimming pool, the air temperature was in the 90 degree neighborhood and we'd been riding all day! Maggie Valley would lead someone to believe it to be a low lying area, but we were nestled in the Smokey Mountains, with nearby mountains rising up around us, a beautiful and scenic spot! When we were finished at the pool, we went over by our rooms and ended up sitting in the fleet of rocking chairs, swapping stories and odering pizzas from the pizza shop down the street. While we were at the pool, Gabby was kind enough to drop a bucket and towels off for us to clean our motors! The beds and pillows were comfortable and provided us with a great night's sleep and it was great to wake the next morning and open the front door to a great Smokey Mountain view! We walked to the attached diner for a great home cooked breakfast and set off down the road for a spectacular visit to Wheels Through Time and then continued on with our journey. Holiday Motel couldn't have been a better stop for us and we plan to return next year using it as a base for some more great riding through the Smokies! The icing on the cake was that I never asked Gabby for a rate when I called to reserve the rooms, I presumed it would be $59/night. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that our rate was only $49 per night, a bargain we could never have expected! Many thanks to Gabby and the Holiday for a wonderful stay and great hospitality and we can't wait to get back there next year! I can't recommend this place enough!

If you are looking for a great place to stay while you are riding in the Smokey's look no further this is it Rob and Gabbi are great host and go out of the way to make sure you feel like you are at home. If you are looking for room service and the morning paper at your front door this is not for you but if you want a clean place to sleep and to be treated like you are family this is it they ride as well and understand bikers. Thank you Rob and Gabbi for taking care of our group for the week you made the trip so much fun as the day was full of riding and the night full of laughs and things to remember. See you soon.

This was our first visit to the Maggie Valley area. We picked A Holiday Motel based on the reviews we found here, as well as, on other sites. We were NOT disappointed! The rooms were very clean .... beds very comfortable..... rates very good - but the best thing about A Holiday Motel is the people. Gabi and Rob (owners) have the unique ability to make you feel as though you are a long time friend the first time they meet you. They continually go out of their way to make sure their guest are happy.... and they know what their guest need to make them happy because everyday they are interacting with the people who stay in their motel. My very favorite part of the motel itself is the red rocking chairs outside each room..... the chairs just invite the guest to sit out side and chat. And they do.... We met people from all walks of life - from different parts of the country - riding an assortment of bikes..... but all sharing the love of riding. If you are looking for beautiful scenic rides - head to Maggie Valley....... if you want the BEST accommodations - Call A Holiday Motel. You're gonna love every day there! Can't wait until we can go back again!

Rob and Gabi are friendly, enthusiastic owners dedicated to providing a great experience. The hotel is a quaint, well maintained retro-style "motor lodge" in the Smokys. Beautiful location close to the best sports car or motorcycle roads in the country. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway and dozens of lesser known but equally exciting roads. Maps are available in the office but the owners know all the BEST roads for whatever excites you. They encourage bikers to park under the porch and provide towels to wipe off your ride after your tour.

If you are looking for a clean and commfy place this is it. It is not a resort, but I will stay here again. The husband and wife are the team that runs this place and they are the best and had any information you could need. The best value for your money. The location is very convently located near many places to eat, see and do. There is a pool but it was closed when we visited in May and that is understandable.

On a bike trip last year we came up on this place after noticing you can park your bike on your front porch. The owners are very a very friendly couple that bought this place a few years back. Great location for bike riders, a must stay.

Thank you very much for your great review. We enjoy having motorcyclist as our guests and love sharing our motorcycle rides and tips in our area with everyone. Maggie Valley has become the one of the most popular motorcycle destinations in the country and we are here for you! Of course the amazing Wheels Through Time Museum is the "Perk" in the Valley so don't forget to go see it next time.
Thank you very much we hope to see you again in the future.
