“Best Breakfast In The Smokies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2010

This restaurant has been in Maggie Valley for years. They only serve Breakfast from 7a.m. until noon. There is usually a waiting line, but they get you in fairly fast. Their specialty is the large variety of Pancakes, but they also serve all of the other normal breakfast fare including diet items. The country ham is out of this world, the biscuits are homemade and the grits & hashbrowns are out of this world. To have been in business for all of these years tells you something about the quality of the food there.

“Pancake & Waffle House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2010

Great atmosphere,friendly staff,
Great Pancake's,Waffles,
Seems to be thriving on its "Known reputation"
Hash brown choice awful! Mixture of a cheese(?) breadcrumbs(?)
Very bland, no potato flavor ,seasoning.
Omlettes are nothing to write home about,.

“A bittersweet review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2010

This is one of those places that I love so much that I want to tell everyone to go, but I love it so much that I don't want to share it with anyone else!

The food is always great. The service is friendly too. Yummy coffee. Ask you server if there are any specials that aren't on the menu. Last fall when my husband and I went, they had cheese blintzes with fresh peaches--which were spectacular! You can't beat tree-ripened fruit that has never been subjected to a cooler. This place is just good, home-cooked, fresh, down-to-earth breakfast. They aren't trying to be foo-foo. If you are expecting fancy food that looks like it was put together by an architect instead of a cook, you have the wrong place. This is just honest and tasty food which will leave you satisfied and happy.

If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, you won't be disappointed with this place. If you think Waffle House has good food, and you think breakfast is breakfast, you might not want to wait in line for a table. But if you know (and care about!) the difference between fresh local food and the junk you can get most other places, than Joey's Pancake House is for you. Ask for some coffee while you wait.

“Joey's is Great !”

One of the best places for breakfast in the NC mountains. Prices are OK, and the food is wonderful. Don't miss Joey's when in Maggie Valley !!

“The best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2009

Joey's has a great breakfast; we especially like the French toast. The service is courteous (you won't run out of coffee), and they serve you soon after you've ordered. We go back most every week. You'll have to wait in line if you're there on a weekend after 8:30 or 9:00, but anything that's really good is worth waiting for!
