I, like him, think that a lot of BBQ tastes pretty much the same. I can't tell you the difference between eastern and western styles. My husband and I ate here yesterday and enjoyed it. BBQ was good, although I would've preferred a warm sauce served on the side. The only sauce they serve is a thin vinegar style. The slaw is reddish in color and slightly on the spicey side. I liked it, and I don't like spicey foods, so maybe it isn't all that firey. The hushpuppies are fantastic, light and not at all greasy. They're crisp on outside, soft on inside. Yum! Sweet tea was good as well. I got the chopped tray, and when it arrived I thought, "This isn't much food" but I was full when I finished. My husband got the chunky chopped tray. It's what it sounds like. The meat is chopped into big pieces, maybe an inch or more in size. He wished he had gotten the regular chopped BBQ. Service was excellent. Next time I'm in Lexington, I'll probably try a different BBQ place, just because I think there are others just as good. This place is a tradition, has been here forever, and I'm glad I tried it. No regrets.
