“Perfect wedding venue - we wouldn't change a thing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2011

We celebrated our wedding ceremony and reception with family and friends in Rosevelt Hall. The staff was incredibly helpful and clearly knows their way around a special occassion. Many of our family and friends stayed at the Inn and had a great time. The only negatives were the guest room size for some of the guest rooms and the spa hours, but it was deffinitely a place that we would recommend!

We were there for a brief stay and to celebrate to the beginning of 2011! So much dancing and meeting interesting people! We loved it! I did want to "try out" the spa but that was NOT an option. Person (Eric?) was not available on a day the the hotel was probably busier than any other day of the winter.

The Lake Lure Inn and Spa was a very charming place to stay and this Historical Hotel had some great characteristics that any history buff would want to see! The Room we had was kinf of small and outdated and the bathroom was small but I was not upset because of the Historical Hotel made it all the better! We had a good time looking at the leaves this weekend but there was not a whole lot going on in the town and things were kind of dead. This is definately a place to visit during the Summer! Very Charming and would go back again for sure!

This was a business trip for my spouse, with me tagging along for leisure. We took advantage of the "pet-friendly" policy-be aware that this will place you out of the hotel proper and in a strip of old-style motor inn type rooms.

The rooms were a decent size but no clothes storage other than the closet (which was quite a large-walk-in) and desk drawers. No place other than back of toilet tank to put toiletries.Lots of towels, which was nice. They did have a very nice basket there with complimentary soap, shampoo, sewing kit, q-tips, etc. Mini fridge in room; desk had a power strip underneath so charging cell phones, etc. was easy. Bed was comfy (there were two queen beds in our room)

There was basically no cellphone reception unless you walked almost to the road. This became very frustrating. They offer wifi in rooms, but the signal strength was usually very weak. Don't count on access.

The spa was the highlight of the stay-excellent service, many choices of treatments. The lake was across the road, with a sandy area. Kayaks were available. There was a kid's water park close by.

No grocery stores, drug stores around without driving a fair distance. There were several restaurants that looked nice, within a short distance.

They did a nice banquet, and the people there for the meetings seemed to be satisfied with that aspect of it. I would only recommend this to a friend if they needed to be in the Lake Lure area and felt strongly about having their pet with them.

Neat place. Very "fancy" looking. Rooms are too small for more than two people. Mattress sagged. I think this place would be appreciated by folks who want to go back in time to the 20's. I thought it was very neat to be surrounded by so many antiquely type of atmosphere. Service was good. Front desk was average. No one said "thank you for staying with us" or anything like that when we left;(. I would stay there again if the trip was for no more than one night because the space inside the "standard" room is too small for a family of four. The location just cannot be beat and the kids really enjoyed the beach on the lake. We swam and kayaked around the lake which is just beautiful.

We had Sunday brunch at the Inn which was fabulous. Prices are very reasonable I thought. We went to the Spa one morning and they treated all 3 of us at the same time. It was wonderful. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I would definitely go back for another vacation here. We did not stay at the Hotel, but Lake Lure has a lot to offer and especially for relaxation. We stayed with friends at their home closeby. We just used the restaurant and spa.

Musty, dank, dirty carpet, dusty, dirty coffee maker, coffee packets already opened. I have stayed in better motel rooms for $39.00 a night!!!! What a rip!!!
