“Not very accommodating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

My wife and I arrived at 6:45 pm on July 5th. The hostesses asked if we had a reservation when we said no they told us to check back with them at 8:00 to see if anything was available. The restaurant was completely empty including the bar. Since we were hungry we said no thanks and ended up having a fabulous meal at Esmerelda's at Chimney Rock.

We are owners at Foxrun and have done their dinner cruise and thought their food was very good but will never set foot in this restaurant due to the snobby way we were treated by these hostesses.

Bottom line is go to Esmerelda's. The food is better and the view is fantastic. And they are much friendlier.

“Beautiful view and excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Lakeview is out favorite place to eat at Rumbling Bald Resort. The view of Lake Lure is beautiful and reminds us of Waterton Park (the Canadian portion of Glacier National Park). We have never had a bad meal or poor service. Highly recommend.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

Great food (we did the Prime Rib Buffet)... there were multiple options for various courses of the meal. The view of the lake from the buffet was great! Our server was not the greatest (she didn't know what beers the restaurant carried), but the other wait staff we interacted with were helpful and engaging. Prices were reasonable.

“Lake View and Decent Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

We ate dinner at the Lakeview Restaurant at the Rumbling Bald Resort. My wife had the Bourbon Glazed Salmon ($19) and I had the NC Moutain Trout ($18). Both were very good. Prices for the food are typical of a resort area (too high vs. outside the resort). Example: Tips were $17 and Beef Filet was $31. The service was okay although a bit slow to get started and a bit slow after we were done. During our meal, the service was very good. The food was deliverd promptly and the wait staff were courteous and helpful. We requested seating outside and enjoyed the lake view and were happy we DIDN'T have to share our meal with flying insects. We ate just before sunset so the lack of insects was a surprize. In general the food was very decent, the view spectacular and service acceptable. I would say the prices were a bit high for what you get but not surprizing based on being in a resort. If I stayed at the resort again, I would revisit this restaurant.

“Great food on the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

Best restaurant next to the Esmeralda Inn & Restaurant, but it is cheaper. All of food was delicious. Did not try the ribs, but everyone around the lake seems to love them.
