“Way over priced, better value at a Motel 6.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012 via mobile

The rooms were not clean at all. The sheets on the beds looked like they hadn't been changed from the previous occupants. There were hairs all over the sheets on both beds and they looked like a 5 year old made them. The mattress pads had spots on them and looked like they've never been washed. We requested clean sheets and made both beds ourselves. The bathroom was just as dirty, hairs in the tub and the towels were ripped and falling apart.

I should preface this with the fact that our reservations got fouled up so we our brief stay at the Lambuth got started on a sour note. However, I can also say that no manager seemed to have any motivation to try to get it sorted out (though the young lady at the front desk did do what she could, which I did appreciate). With that said, I can't imagine how they manage to justify the price they charge for these rooms. I understand the convenience if you are at a conference or event at Lake Junaluska, but unless the room rates are greatly reduced in those circumstances I can't imagine staying here. The rooms are small, the walls are thin so that you hear everything going on in the hall, and the bathrooms have no counter space. On top of that when the shower curtain was installed in our bathroom the inset of the curtain rod was place inches further than necessary, so that when you took a shower you literally had the curtain on top of you. It was just disappointing all the way around, and if you read my reviews I'm generally not that hard to please.

As mentioned previously, this place does have some nice southern charm if that is important, and it is very convenient if you are attending an conference at the Lake facilities. But that's all I can say for it. I've been to Junaluska a number of times over the years and I'm sure I'll be back again, just not at the Lambuth Inn.

This old Inn has great character- wide side porches and a peaceful, serene lake located just outside the front door. But if you are looking for anything remotely modern, this is not your kind of place. A Holiday Inn it isn't and that will appeal to many. The Inn is in great need of repair- the HVAC system is troubled, the carpets need replacing, the elevators are 1960's and hot and cold water are not consistent. What it lacks in modern amenities is somewhat compensated by the surrounding scenery and easy access to a 2.5 walking trail around the lake. It just depends on what you want in your stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are fairly quiet except for the clanging of the HVAC System

For the joy of Christian fellowship, serenity of surroundings, quality of the meals, comfort of the accomodations, one cannot find a better location than the Lambuth Inn. It has been serving the temporary resident for many years. Let us hope it continues to serve for many, many more. If I were able, I would again make an annual pilgrimage to Lake Junaluska for the preaching and the great singing, and I would prefer to stay at Lambuth Inn.
