“Soooooooo Clean and So Caring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2007

Anne and Ea are wonderful innkeepers. We stayed in one of their condos this spring and it was a wonderful experience. We wanted to stay again in August but were looking to save some money, so we chose to stay in a cottage instead. When my husband, 2-year-old and 8-month old, showed up, the temperatures were at record highs and there was no wind and, of course, it was very humid. The little air conditioner in the window was no match for these conditions, and with two tiny ones, we were uncomfortable. Although we really like Anne and had gotten to know her on a limited basis, we decided to complain about the heat after spending one sleepless night trying to stay cool by sleeping separately. She seemed genuinely sad that we were uncomfortable. She called a repairman to inspect the AC. Everyone determined that it was just the strength of the summer sun and the humidity, so she installed a second air conditioning unit that day. She was very kind about it. She is always happy to visit or help out in any way possible or leave you alone if you prefer. Their rooms and the pool are spotless. The garbage cans are absolutely clean. Under the sink, you will not find dust or dirt of any kind. The bathrooms are immaculate. The cottages are old. They are not luxury. They are wonderful. Anne moved furniture the day she installed an additional AC unit, and there was no dust under the bed or behind the dresser--very, very clean!

The Rizzo family just wanted to thank Anne and Ea for a delightful stay at Palm Air Cottages. Their attention to detail (right down to the beer & popsicles in the fridge!) and genuine warmth made us feel at home right away. We honestly cannot remember when we have been treated so well by an innkeeper. We throroughly enjoyed our weekend which included a complimentary dinner to a community BBQ.
We will be back to Palm Air!

We just returned from a week at Palm Air. The accommodations and the service were impeccable. The innkeepers were very proactive in their efforts to make our stay pleasurable. The pool was
great, the beach was great and the community was great. For an unforgettable vacation, stay at Palm Air

We stayed at Palm Air Cottages the week of 4th of July. It was our second visit at the cottages and we do plan on going back again next year. Anne and Ea are the best hostess anyone could ask for. The cottages are very well kept and the pool is just delightful. If my 10 year old had his way we would just live there. Can't wait until next year so we can stay there again.

This is probably the best vacation I've been on since our honeymoon. Anne & Ea (the "innkeepers") are amazing. Palm air cottages are very clean, very cute and very family oriented and quiet. Everything is within walking distance of the cottages (be sure to stop at the Food Lion when you cross the bridge to Carolina Beach and you'll never have to move your car!) We will be back and we will stay longer. My husband's comment about Palm Air was simply "perfect." The town of Kure Beach has a "small town" feel - even tho there are a lot of Condos the beach was not crowded (even tho we were there the week of the fourth). Kure Beach pier is also great. There aren't many places to eat in town, but our favorite was the Old Pier House (next to the pier of course) and the Tastee Freez was great for ice cream!

  • Liked — It was SO cozy and comfy.
  • Disliked — Couldn't see the ocean from our cottage, but we were so close it didn't matter

It’s taken us too long to get online to leave this note, but we absolutely wanted to make sure we shared our experience. We stayed for two nights in one of Palm Air’s condos on the beach and loved every minute of it. Large sliding doors opened to a roomy deck from which we watched dolphins play and were reminded that there was no one between us and the shells, sand, and ocean. Gated beach access was a super-short walk, and parking was hassle-free and reserved. The condo was located near the complex’s pool, and although we didn’t use it, it would be convenient for those who prefer a less gritty swimming environment. The condo itself was charmingly decorated, very clean, and stocked well with all the utensils we could have wanted. The owners/hosts were friendly and fun, and made us feel welcome from the moment we met. This is not a stuffy place set on formality, so I recommend you come here whether you like laid-back family fun, or a romantic getaway. While we were there, we had the privilege of touring the “tree house,” the newest addition to the cottages. It was absolutely adorable, and we look forward to staying there on a future trip. Many thanks to Ea and Anne for a wonderful stay.

Anne and Ea are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They make you feel like family. We have been to Palm Air Cottages several times and are greeted with hugs and made to feel welcome. There is a little get-together every Saturday afternoon which gives you a chance to meet the other guests. Staying there is like staying at a bed and breakfast or country inn, not a beach motel. Cottages are extremely clean with plenty of hot water and towels and places to clean off from the beach and hang wet stuff. While Kure Beach is not a fancy resort area, it's a great low-key family oriented town.
