“Great DRIZZLY Day Activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The aquarium is a perfect activity to participate in when the weather isn't perfect for bumming around on the beach. I wouldn't recommend going if the weather is worse than drizzling though, because part of the aquarium is an outdoor walkway, and you won't get to enjoy it.

“Fun for the Entire Family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Take the ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher and the NC Aquarium! Wonder exhibits throughout, including hands-on touchable exhibits of horsehoe craps and other sea creatures. I love the jelly fish in black light - very etherial! Fun for all! Great family experience.

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012 via mobile

Never thought I would say that I find a fish or sea turtle "cuddly" but I instantly fell in love with the sea turtles and the puffer fish. Brought my son and he and I both touched a small shark and horseshoe crab. Awesome learning experience for us both. Have a greater respect for aquatic living animals. Would so recommend!!

“Very relaxing and informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

The aquarium boast more then fish it is worldly knowledge in one location. we loved the gardens and well appointed walkway nature trail.
They have lots of tanks where you can touch the exhibits, including a shark if your brave enough, good job its only 2 ft long. You can also see the native plant to North Carolina the Venus Flytrap and a whole range of other carnivorous plants.

“Great low key aquarium. No Ripleys tourist trap here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

This is one of the best aquariums I have been to. The kids loved it, and there are lots of teaching moments. They gave a military discount, which I loved.
