“Second year at this wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

wonderful location, ocean front. Choose a room on upper floors on north side of hotel. the view from our balcony was great! Very clean hotel room, small but nice outdoor pool. They also have an indoor and a large jacuzzi. Friendly staff, especially Chris. Nice outdoor area with rocking chairs and various seating areas, even a fire pit and tiki bar.
One complaint we had shower curtain was too small for shower and I was constantly sopping up water off the floor. Also we are tea drinkers and someone used thecoffee pot to put the hot water in so tea tasted like coffee.
Beach area is nice on both sides of pier and restroom available inpier for hotel guests so you didn't have to walk back to hotel.
Very wonderful experience.

Room Tip: North side of hotel 4th or 5th floor . We were in 406 so closer to beach is best. We had a great vie...

Nice location on the ocean front... the beach is in walking distance.
We had an oceanfront room with great views. the room was clean , and the bed was confy. The kids enjoyed the beach and outdoor pool.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They suggested area attractions and Offered dining recommendations.

Overall, this is a nice place to stay and a good value.

The hotel was lovely. The room with balcony looked over the pier/ocean. I could watch my family fish on the pier.

The hotel staff were friendly. The housekeeping staff were available and very nice.

The hotel restaurant was good. Kind of confusing our first time there for breakfast as you seat yourself and didn't realize we would have service, but she came after we got food, and she was very good.

The fishing pier was great everyone out there was so nice and great with my 10 year old daughter fishing as well.

My only complaint is the lack of staff working the pier window. Never saw anyone there, and we wanted to get hotel chairs and umbrella and also bait another time. We went somewhere else to buy what we needed.

Otherwise, we loved it.

I'm a Hilton Platinum member and stay in a lot of Hilton's - never had so many problems. A/C in room did not bring the temperature below 73. After complaining maintenance came twice and told me that it is a very hot day! It was 89, not 100! Cheaper hotels do not have such problem, the unit was just not blowing hard enough, is totally undersized. They could not fix the problem, next day we had same problem.
The lobby was also very hot, maybe 85 degrees, no cold air was blowing. We wanted to read some brochures sitting in the lounge area, but that was impossible due to the hot air.
Next problem was that the TV blocked the HBO channels. Maintenance had to come again and spent 30 minutes to fix it.
Next morning we tried the breakfast and the server assigned to our area never showed up, we had to call up another server to get coffee. Ordered my omelette and even I expressed that I do not want cheese in my omelette, I got cheese. Returned it and waited another 10 minutes for food. Looked for waitress, nowhere seen. Called another server again to get some more coffee and this time I asked who our server is. Was told told it is Daisy, but not sure where she is right now.
Also the staff at the front desk was just totally gone several times I needed them.

We stayed only one night, while driving North. Newer hotel, looks great from the outside and the lobby is nice as well. Our room was average; a small balcony had a view of the outside pool and the beach but was in need of a paint job as the rail was chipping badly. Two cheap plastic chairs also were in need of a wash.

Room Tip: High Cotton BBQ is directly across the street, good food and reasonably priced, very casual so walk...

The Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks/Kitty Hawk is located right on the beach with a beautiful view, a fishing pier, chairs and umbrellas to rent and an extremely convenient location to almost all the sights of the Outer Banks. For Hilton Honor Gold Card members, the delicious breakfast is on the house, but, even for the non-member, the breakfast is reasonably priced. The ocean view rooms provide a narrow view of the ocean, while the ocean front rooms face the beach. The hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we are returning this year as well.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are located on the interior of a "u" shaped building. Choose a highe...

Loved everything about our stay. We did not eat in the hotel and did not use the pool. The location, the beach, the staff, the room was perfect and we can not wait to go back. We stayed three nights and wish I had booked more.
