“Very nice hotel in the OBX!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

I Stayed here in March for a few nights when I came down for 2 days of deep sea fishing! The staff is very nice and the hotel is quite pretty. The rooms are good sized and clean. The beds are very comfy and having the balcony with the view of the wonderful ocean was nice! Overall it was a great hotel and had a good experience.

We chose this hotel because of its name, and location. This hotel was located close to everything we did while staying on the island. We enjoyed walking out onto the pier and the beaches were nice. There were a couple of minor cleanliness issues, but they were minor. The bartender did some personal complaining to my husband, but he is human. The fountain in the back was not operating yet, but our visit was early in the season. The chairs on the balcony were a little flimsy, but we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony.

Room Tip: The balcony made a big difference. They are supposed to give a military discount, should always ask.

We stayed at this location while taking hang-gliding lessons at Jockey's Ridge. The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the pier, beach, shops, and good restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, some downsides were: carpet stains on the second floor hallway, all the bed linens had an over-powering bleach smell, and it was obvious that the toilet bowl was not cleaned on a regular basis...not the type of cleanliness standard that you would expect for nearly $200 a night in April before the heavy summer season begins. When we arrived late due to unexpected travel delays, even though we had called ahead to advise the Front Desk, we found that our room was changed from a King Size to Two Queens. Supposedly, we had been upgraded from an Ocean View to an Ocean Front but the room was still not up to our expectations. Overall, a pleasant but not memorable stay at this HGI.

I stayrd for three nights and enjoyed the hotel very much. You can walk out the back and you are on the beach. The location is perfect for exploring the outerbanks. You are close to beaches, the Wright Brothers National Park, and too many restaurants to count. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and the overall experience was quite nice.

Was a very good experience and a hotel we would definitely stay at again. The only problem I noticed was an unsafe handicapped bathroom. The staff were exceptional and the whole hotel very clean and quiet.

This hotel is located right at the intersection of 158/12, a great location. The hotel is right on the ocean with great ocean views, convieient access to the beach and Kitty Hawk Pier. It's about 20 minutes from Corolla, 10 minutes from Duck and 20 minutes from Nags Head. The front desk crew was extremely accomodating and helped us to get into our room early by juggling some room #s. The lobby is beautiful, free coffee in the AM. Free WiFi also. They had a made to order breakfast every day and you could also get lunch and dinner there. The rooms were great and the beds and pillows were VERY comfy! We had an oceanfront room on the 5th floor, the views were great. Overall an awesome hotel to stay at, we would stay here again!

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views - try the oceanfront rooms and listen to the surf put you to sleep a...

Everything you'd expect from a Hilton Garden Inn with friendly, knowledgeable staff at every turn. The property is easy to find, right on the beach, and even has a pier 100 feet from the hotel!

Highly recommend for couples or families!
