The nicest part of this hotel was the heated pool. We did not sleep good due to the loud heating system and hard beds. We both tossed and turned all night. Every time the heat kicked on I woke up. The beds were so hard my body was hurting. Bathroom was a little small and basic. The ocean front room was nice. It is overall a nice hotel in a great location but I was not stay here again unless I was not planning on sleeping.

For a Hilton owned property, we were disappointed. The "partial ocean view" meant 90% of our view was the air conditioning system for the hotel (complete with the noise) and a sliver of view over the pool to the ocean. Make sure you see a room before taking as they don't seem forthright about what you are getting. Also no breakfast included. Overall, it was a personality-less chain motel but at Hilton prices.

This was our second stay at the Garden Hilton Inn at Kitty Hawk. The accomodations are outstanding! We had a waterfront room that was quiet and luxurious. Loved sitting on the private porch watching the waves come in. There were three weddings at the facility during our 3 night stay - it was exciting to see the bride/groom parties and special to us because we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary. Although the hotel was busy with these events it did not interfer with our great service. Really enjoyed the "firepit" and met some other travelers with whom we had interesting conversations! The weather was perfect for Oct and we enjoyed time on the sandy beach and pier. Traveled to all the lighthouses on this adventure (Orcacoke, Hatteras, Bodie and Currituck) and naturally the Wright Brothers - left by way of Roanoke Island - and the Gardens were stunning. Great Outer Banks trip! Perfect time of year - less tourist and cooler weather!

My husband and I traveled to the outer banks in October 2012. My husband suffered a stoke in January and just was given medical clearance to travel. I contacted the General Manager, Lauren Bradshaw and asked if she could make this a special trip. We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. When we checked in we were informed we had been upgraded to an ocean front room over looking the ocean, the pool and the pier. Every night we would leave the sliding glass door open so we could hear the waves. The room was amazing.

The front desk staff of Michael and Jody were great to work with. Our maid Charles kept our room clean and always worked around our schedule. We ate every morning at the hotel and had two dinners there as well and meals were perfect. We hated to leave but we will be back. We have stayed at hotels from Hawaii to Paris and this hotel is on par only at a fraction of the cost.
