I went with friends for their special prime rib dinner on Wednesday nights. I made reservations although they were not needed. The price was great ($15.00) which included a choice of their salads, a generous bowl of soup, a huge portion of prime rib, smashed potatoes, and a veggie--this time sauteed squash with onions. Wednesday nights is also "half price" wine by the bottle. The restaurant appears to have a large selection of wines both by the glass and the bottle.
The waiter was very good. Water glasses were kept filled. The food arrived within an appropriate time. We didn't feel rushed. He had no problem with separate checks.
The only bad experience with the meal was the mashed potatoes. They simply had too much pepper for my tastes and that of one my fiends. The other friend with us happy with the pepper taste. Pepper, like salt, is great; but one can't remove it if it's too much. To the waiter's credit, he offered rice as a substitute.
I have eaten here before for lunch, and the food has always been tasty. I especially love the home made cream of mushroom soup.
Should you have a rail fan with you, ask for a seat by a window upstairs; and your rail fan friend can watch trains passing at all hours.
