“What's not to like?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

My wife and 9 month old Golden stayed at Riverdance on our drive from Chicago to Hilton Head Is. I had the good fortune to know Callie since we were kids and just had to check out her mountain retreat.

Well, we had good weather, great accommodations, fabulous scenery, a wonderful breakfast, and the walk along the river is to die for...a top-notch stay.

We loved it.....Thanks Callie and Dave :)

Room Tip: The owners gave up their own suite...so, we had the best of the best :)

Just stayed 3 nights and we are ages 60, 65 and 19 yr old daughter. We were surprised by the huge size of the bottom floor. As others have said if you want complete privacy you could, but Callie and Dave make you feel like old friends from the start and you will easily enjoy joining them for chats about how they came to the area. Callie has tons of brochures and will you depending on your interests. Daughter wanted to zipline and Callie suggested Navitat which was just the challenging experience she wanted while dragging a less than eager dad along. Hot Springs is 15 minutes away and an all day whitewater was fun for us all with Hot Springs Whitewater Co. Sandy Bottom horseback riding is also less than 30 min's away with over 500 acres. Last day we had to leave at 2:00am cause daughter became ill with complications of her neurological condition, and we were able to and in got her into Mission Hospital ER in Asheville in short time. Texted Callie about our leaving and she was going to drive in to hospital to see us but daughter was released shortly thereafter with meds and prompt care to rule out anything very serious. Callie let us know we could return to Riverdance if needed right away for an extra night but we were able to move on to our next reservation in Asheville to allow for rest. Missed touring Asheville but def want to return. All this to say, you feel worlds away from it all, but you are close to help if you need it. Callie and Dave make this the Excellent place it is. The beauty of the house is evident from photos, but it is the people that make it such a special place.

Room Tip: Did not see the upper floors but the bottom level is huge.

Stayed with Callie and David and some friends for three days in mid-April. Comfortable place with wonderful breakfasts, a great location, and magnificent views. Quiet and friendly hosts who shared with us the secrets of the region. Highly recommend.

My husband planned a surprise 6 day get-a-way to River Dance for our 40th wedding anniversary. I told him, as we headed out of Ohio, that all I hoped for was that we were going to a place that had a terrific view. As we got closer, traveling along a breathtaking river, and making a turn into the gated entrance, the excitement really started to build. Then we were on our assent up to the top of a beautiful mountain—reaching River Dance---and the VIEW was spectacular!!! My husband had found a real “winner”. Callie and Dave are two special people, who are really cut out for this type of serving of body, mind, and soul. They truly love their “piece of heaven”, and share it so lovingly with their guests. I so enjoyed reading many of the reviews written here, and am in agreement with all the praises poured out for this B & B…..so won’t reiterate. I will bring to light though, that there are many, fun, nearby places to go for day adventures while at this location. We spent 8 hours at the phenomenal Biltmore, exploring the mansion and grounds, and having a delicious lunch at the Stable Café. One day was spent at the N.C. Arboretum, taking in so much natural beauty, and hiking on trails. Another day we were off to Grovewood Galleries (what incredible works of art), that is next to the historic Grove Park Inn that we also explored. We had an extraordinary gourmet meal, sitting on the back porch of the Magnolia Inn, in Hot Springs. Callie and Dave also gave us some good suggestions on places to explore, and we found all these to be most enjoyable. Of course, just being at River Dance, absorbing the beauty of our space, the singing Big Laurel Creek below, and the majesty of the mountains have created a memory of this anniversary that will never be forgotten.

Callie and Dave were great hosts and we enjoyed everything about our visit to RiverDance! I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast for couples or families. The best part of our vacation was our time spent at RiverDance.

Just returned from spending three nights at RiverDance along with three other couples. It was a wonderful spot to relax and rejuvenate. Dave and Callie, the owners, are so warm and welcoming that you can't help but feel at home instantly. The location is set high in the mountains overlooking an oxbow of the Laurel River with mountains in the background. It couldn't be any more scenic, especially nice to enjoy the view while relaxing in the hot tub set on its own little deck.
Breakfast is provided and is abundant, though because it is not a commercial kitchen nothing is cooked. However, the assortment of granola, yogurt, fruits and pastries are more than enough to fill one up! There are many interesting books to peruse and lots of brochures to help you find interesting things to do in the area. It's a great spot for hiking trails, rafting adventures and side trips to towns like Mars Hill, Weaverville, Marshall and Asheville. We will be back!

Loved meeting our hosts, Dave and Callie at Riverdance.
Their home is warm...as is their hospitality. The view took our breath away, and the solitude their location has, in a private gated community gave us the privacy and serenity we were looking for!
LOVED soaking in the hot tub, hearing the Big Laurel river below in the ravine! Perfect!
