I searched repeatedly for a lodging that would accommodate my husband and me, along with our visitor from MN. The Mountain Magnolia Inn was able to provide the type of housing I was looking for in Miss Peggy's Suite, a 2 bedroom suite with full bath and living room, and a front entrance onto a porch with table and chairs, as well as an entrance from the back porch close to the parking lot. We chose to have dinner there the afternoon of our arrival, and this was managed beautifully with a setting on the side porch of the inn that had large propane heaters for later in the chill of the evening. The menu was generous as were the portions of food, which were beautifully prepared by the chef. Service was excellent both for the dinner and breakfast meals. Our breakfast included individual omelets with grits and ham on the side, as well as juices, coffee and a fruit skewer, plus two pieces of wonderful french toast. Our beds were very well appointed and comfortable in large bedrooms typical of the Victorian age of the house, built in 1862. The bathroom was spotless and easily managed by us with a tub/shower of generous size. The Hot Springs soaking tubs were very interesting and a total pleasure, just a short walk or drive back into town, and again, these were very clean. The Mountain Magnolia Inn staff were so friendly and pleasant, all were proud of this beautiful house and were eager to fulfill every request. There is so much to see and do in the area that a one night stay was too short. Would love to repeat the experience.
