As a local Highlander I been to Madison's rather a few times since it's inception a few years ago. Yes it is true that they had some serious problem delivering the goods in the past. Occasionally the food would be good, but the service was so overwrought that it was painful. For a while it seemed that whoever was running the place thought that the more special carts, or weird utensils they could use in service, the more impressed we would be. We used to joke that you could die of thirst while they were in back hand carving your ice cubes.
We had given up on them, but a new they hired a new general manager from Sea island for the resort, and he really seems to have made some difference. We ate there recently and found that our food was very tasty, hot, beautifully presented and served in a professional, unobtrusive manner. It is not inexpensive, but we felt that they gave fair value for the quality and quantity. We hope that this trend continues, because while we love Paolletti's for a nice evening out, it is nice to have another option as well. It is after all quite lovely and much quieter than Paolettis.
