“Casually Elegant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

While you are aware that this is a highly-rated establishment, you at no time get the impression that they are complacent about their success. The entire experience is extremely pleasant with low-key but attentive service coupled with a deceptively simple, delicious menu. The setting is stunning, among the beautiful mountains--but comfortable in an unpretentious way. You feel that you've really gotten away from it all!

“Ultra experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful. They knew that we were celebrating my wife's birthday and had red rose petals scatted on the table (nice touch). Service was highly professional and the food was excellent.

“Not the Highlight of Our Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

An average meal. We were expecting much more as part of our stay at the Old Edwards Inn. We will definately return to the Inn but not sure about Madisons. The food and service was average with an above average cost.

“Worth the drive from Asheville, NC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

From the moment you arrive at Madison's you know you are somewhere special. You are treated with great respect and dignity. Your server and "wine navigator" are truly interested in your enjoyment of your meal and they will answer any question, make any adjustment and care for you so that your enjoyment is maximized. The food is superb with mostly fresh/local produce and meats. The desserts are divine!! Don't miss Madison's if you are in the Highlands.

“terrible salty meal”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

We started out with a nice appetizer and lovely breads and were very impressed by the ambiance and presentation. However we were very disappointed when our main dishes arrived. Our fish was overcooked and tasteless except for being very salty. It was the special and very pricey but we wouldn't have said anything if our server hadn't kept coming over and telling us wasn't it absolutely wonderful. We wouldn't eat there again because there were so many better restaurants in Highlands.
