“Lovely & Welcoming”

Our stay at the inn was our first. My husband and I were on a get-away with some friends who had been there before, and their reports from prior visits were extremely positive. We now agree with them. Our accommodations were very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The inn is well kept and clean. Our group ranged from 50's to 70's, and the shops and restaurants were well within walking distance for everyone. We would definitely return when traveling in the Highlands area.

Room Tip: There is the main house and a "guest house" in back, across the parking lot. My husband a...

We were in town for a dear friend's wedding. This inn was one of a few suggested by the bride & groom. The location was perfect, right in the midst of the downtown area ... walking distance to all the shops, bars and restaurants. The room was simple, but had everything we needed as we weren't going to spend much time there. The staff were all terrific and consistently displayed that ol' southern charm. The prices and the quality of the food at the restaurant on site were just icing on the cake. We'd stay there again.

My wife and I decided to go to Highlands after our daughter visited this past summer. We tried to stay at the same location where she stayed but it was booked. The Main Street Inn was recommended by a friend so we "took a chance". We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. You can never be sure if the pictures on the website truly reflect what you get but if anything the pictures did not do the room justice. It was lovely and better than advertised. The food was wonderful and we could have eaten every meal there. The staff was very attentive and friendly and we felt right at home during our stay. The only downside was that the wireless internet did not work on the room but that may have been a positive in retrospect because we actually spent more time with each other than we would have if we were "on the net". The Inn is very convenient to all the shops. An added bonus was listening to the folk musician while we sat on our private balcony. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

Room Tip: get a room in the main part of the Inn

Location is ideal. Close to everything you need, but private enough to feel at ease. Southern hospitality. Breakfast is five stars. Excellent coffee. Manager and staff very kind. This is the real Highlands experience. Five stars.

This was our first visit to Highlands and we were very fortunate to stay at the Main Street Inn. This is a very charming house with tons of character. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were very clean. We will definitely be back to stay at the Main Street Inn.

My husband and I chose to stay at the Main Street Inn on a whim. We were coming in town for a wedding and figured location was the key as we probably wouldn't be in our room much! We made the perfect decision and will continue to stay there for future visits (especially if we bring the kids in the future). The rooms are no frills and some are quite
small, but you get what you pay for! There are some large rooms with balconies in the main house. The location is excellent and everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. If you are
going for a wedding or really anything and don't require the first class amenities of the Old Edward...then I highly recommend.

I recently stayed at the Main Street Inn for a friend's wedding. The service from all the staff was exceptional. This is a beautiful Inn located in a great area of Highlands, NC on Main Street close to shops, restaurants, etc. I look forward to staying there again on a future trip.
